We had a really good meal at the General Sutter Inn this past weekend. Two if us had the pear and walnut salad, which was really, really good. We also had filet mignon, the seafood cioppino, lobster roll and the chicken and leek pie....everything was delicious! The nice part about this place is that you can also get the Pub... More

I've been to Ireland and didn't come across any shepherd's pie that was close to this wonderful dish at the General's. I even asked for the recipe, and they gave me the ingredients. I can do the measurements myself. The setting is lovely, historic, with all the look that goes with that. next door is a lively pub, but we... More

A bit expensive but the amount of food is plentiful. The lobby of the hotel is just gorgeous and they have just redone the restaurant as well. Great place to go for a special occasion and the pub food is also available on the restaurant menu as well. Wait staff is fabulous. You can also eat outside and it's lovely... More

Jeff Merk, Joe, April and Dylan made our family celebration a second to none event. A well planned, cooked to order, personally designed menu, based on our own tastes, the patio tastefully decorated, the staff completely organized, and a good time for all. If you have an event, this is the place to hold it.

We had lunch on craft show Saturday. It was very busy but we had very good service and enjoyed the meal. The building is historic and the dining room elegantly furnished. The prices are competitive for a quality restaurant and we look forward to going back.

Went on a recent busy Saturday. Parking is tight but eventually u will get one. We went to the bar and had several appetizers. All good nothing remarkable but good. Big selection of beers and wines. We tried to get into the Tavern but it was jammed. Give it a try.

I was traveling with very picky eaters and beer drinkers and everyone in our party was happy with the food and drink. They have unusual beers on tap and we all really liked our choices. The service was very good--the hostess and bartender were helpful and got us seated on a very busy evening. Our waiter was informative, friendly, and... More

Visited on a very busy Saturday. We couldn't get in the Pub so we saddled up to the bar on the patio. Bartender served us promptly even though very busy. We had the meat and cheese board appetizer and the chicken and leek pot pie. It was all good. The bread was like a brick but I guess its s'pose... More
