Went with a big group for Bucknell parents' weekend Saturday night and had a blast They navigated the over-capacity crowd with grace, and a good tome was had by all.

I went to eat there with a friend last Tuesday and had a great dinner. The Steak Frites I got was out of this world. The chef cooked it exactly to my liking. We were super impressed with the service as well, as the waitress was very attentive. I really look forward to my next dining experience there without a... More

Just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Brassiere Louis. Glad we didn't read recent reviews. The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect and the wait staff attentive. We walked in off the street and we're immediately greeted and seated. The menu was diverse enough that we had a hard time choosing. Salmon was lovely and the steak fritte could... More

This used to be a good place to drink and eat. Now, you never know what the hours are, the place stinks, and the scuttlebutt is that the owner doesn't pay his help, or his vendors. That's a bad equation for a restaurant/bar. They're always out of what you want. I'd walk a wide circle around this formerly good stop.

I am sorry we disappointed you. I am not aware of any odor problems but I am having my super sniff mother in law giving me the final say. Regarding the scuttlebutt, rumors run rampant in small towns (especially about restaurants) and in this case its ill informed nonsense. We strive to please and exceed customers expectations and we clearly... More

Typically because of business reasons, or because someone else scheduled it, I have eaten here several times over the past, including recently. However, it is not a place I will recommend. While the bar can be nice enough, the dining features service that is poor at best, because of slow and inattentive service.

The Brasserie used to be a pretty good place to eat. Well now we have a new chef. Big deal. He took 3 of the best appetizers ever and discontinued them. They were the baked brie, the fried oysters and the roasted beets. Now we have fufu appetizer balls with rice and pork and you know what? These are only... More

We visited this past summer right after the new chef started and were underwhelmed. Nothing bad, just not much we were interested in trying on the menu. Went back in early October 2014, and were pleased to see an old favorite or two back on the menu, plus some delicious new options. The shrimp and stone-ground grits were delicious! Will... More

As a transplant to Lewisburg seven years ago, one of the more challenging aspects of adapting to our lovely rural college town was the limited access to high-quality, creative cuisine. Happily, Lewisburg continues to evolve its restaurant scene with a number of venues that can satisfy a variety of cravings. Of note, the Brasserie Louis has recently hired a new... More

Wanted a special place for dinner with my family as a send off for our daughter's start at Bucknell. They were extremely understaffed, for which they apologized. I could excuse the service problems but the food was just awful. I ordered the fish which was served undercooked and was in edible, Had to stop at the McDonald's drive through on... More

My husband and I took a friend here for a special birthday dinner last Friday. We had dined here a month or so ago and had a superb meal. Unfortunately now there is a new "chef." This time the tuna steak (ordered by my husband and friend, who had loved the rare seared tuna by the previous chef) was dry... More
