As a transplant to Lewisburg seven years ago, one of the more challenging aspects of adapting to our lovely rural college town was the limited access to high-quality, creative cuisine. Happily, Lewisburg continues to evolve its restaurant scene with a number of venues that can satisfy a variety of cravings. Of note, the Brasserie Louis has recently hired a new... More

Wanted a special place for dinner with my family as a send off for our daughter's start at Bucknell. They were extremely understaffed, for which they apologized. I could excuse the service problems but the food was just awful. I ordered the fish which was served undercooked and was in edible, Had to stop at the McDonald's drive through on... More

My husband and I took a friend here for a special birthday dinner last Friday. We had dined here a month or so ago and had a superb meal. Unfortunately now there is a new "chef." This time the tuna steak (ordered by my husband and friend, who had loved the rare seared tuna by the previous chef) was dry... More

They hired a new chef from Virginia (who just started two weeks ago) and WOW! An interesting and inspired new menu that delivered on taste! The chef is sourcing locally grown products and adds a unique southern twist that really raises the bar for cuisine in Lewisburg. We don't say this lightly. My husband is a foodie and I am... More

My daughter was graduating from Bucknell University and we decided to finally try Brasserie Louis. It looks so charming from the outside, but feels outdated and neglected inside. We should have realized when we discovered that it was the only place in town taking reservations the week of graduation that something was wrong. The service was adequate and the soup... More

We were hungry, but not too hungry and decided to stop in for a glass of wine and some fried oysters. Great time. The server was very friendly and the food was very very good. We ate on the "table" side rather than the bar side and it was quiet and nice for an early supper midweek. Nice place.

Our meals looked as amazing as they tasted. Try the tuna! It is served rare, the way it should be, and the fish was fanned out around wasabi mashed potatoes, which were a bit hard to protect from other tasters. My wife liked it that the waitress called her "madam." We all liked that you could order from the bar... More

We love the Brasserie. We particularly love their outdoor patio. It has got to be one of the most romantic dining spots in the 4 county region. We have dined there the entire summer and love it. We usually go midweek and we have the place all to ourselves. And the service is spot on! Sometimes we dine on nothing... More

We have never had such an abysmal restaurant experience. We arrived Friday night (27th) for our 8:15 reservation, waited patiently in line until earlier reservations were seated (way past their reservation time) and then were basically told that our reservation (for 3 people) wasn't on the books. (Upon returning home on Sunday, I found that I still had the call... More
