A very specific type of cheesesteak

So, for you out-of-towners, this is the non-chopped style. Paper-thin slices of frozen steak are placed flat on the grill, and flipped but never chopped. Placed on bread with cheese and usually fried onions. The bread matters in this art form, and theirs is really good. Make sure you can... read more

I never had a Philly Cheese steak in Philly, so we were on a mission! The first place we went was, Joe's Cheese steak and Soda Shoppe. It was great! The place is really nice ., clean and comfortable, and service was great! The cheese steak was deeelish not to mention the buffalo chicken fries. Would definitely go back. Next... More

This cheese steak is awesome. Try the melted American cheese instead of whiz for a change. The fries are super crispy, and oozing with cheese. For the vegetarians, they have a veggie hoagie. Winning Best of Philly and Best of Bucks is well deserved. Yummy!

We were visiting Sesame Place for a few days and wanted something quick to bring back to the hotel, so we stopped here. Go for the steak with wiz and onions. It was great and not too greasy. Also, it's right next to a Dunkin Donuts, so that was a bonus.

Steve's steaks is a little hole in the wall that serves delicious steak and chicken steak sandwiches. This is not really a restaurant but rather a place you can sit and enjoy your sandwich. Food is ordered at one of two windows. At the first window the customer orders sandwiches and the at the second window drinks and fries are... More

This was my first time in Philly and my first authentic cheese steak. It was amazing and very good! Sure wish I could get this back home! Don't know if I'll ever be in Philly again, but if I do, I'll be looking up Steve's!

We heard about this place so gave it a try. After all of the hype, have to say that it's overrated. Nothing special about it, and it was actually sub-par compared to other places in the area. Service is fine, nothing special otherwise.

We ordered 5 steaks. All of them were terrific. These steaks are just as good as anything you will find in the city. If you're in the mood for a great Philly cheese steak but not in the mood for Philly itself then we recommend Steve's. Enjoy!
