Description: During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection...
During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection stamp--November 5, 1890--with the name of tobacco inspector John J. Jeffries. We named the restaurant after him. We’ve designed our menu based on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture and delicious recipes. Please join us and taste the difference of local farm-to-table sustainable cuisine in one of Lancaster's best fine dining restaurants. As the Chefs and Owners of John J Jeffries, we believe you will find our passion for supporting local businesses and preserving the land we live on, to be contagiously obvious in how we run our restaurant. All of our meats are raised locally, confinement-free on fresh green grass pastures. No hormones, antibiotics, steroids or forced-fertilization occurs. Our produce is local organic or chemical free. We use local grass fed cream, butter and eggs. We also provide sustainable seafood and support sustainable fisheries.

Finding the restaurant and especially the parking area is challenging. While there is a parking lot on the side street we were told they actually do tow so don't park there. There is a parking lot belonging to the restaurant on the other side that faces Harrisburg Ave. Once you get there, the food is very good. They serve

Take the TA review as farm to table restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere, kind people, reasonable price and healthy tasty foods. And they also serve filtered water which i never expect in NYC!!

JJJ is farm-to-table with a wonderful menu and very reliable service. Parking can be challenging - especially on the weekend when the hotel is busy. The bar scene is quite brisk and can get a tad loud if you're hoping for romantic and quiet.

We showed up late on a Friday and were so thrilled with our experience at John J. Jeffries; local food with delicious and innovative (but not tricky or trendy) preparations, good portions, and a really comfortable and pretty dining room. Would definitely go back.

Good food, great atmosphere, excellent service. However, my wife said she was very glad she ordered the Small Plate Jim Bim Bop as she said it was very spicy. She is normally fairly conservative when it comes to food but we live out west and eat a fair amount of Mexican food so it's not like she just eats bland... More

My daughter and son-in-law are very kind and had a surprise 60th birthday party for me here. The food was absolutely amazing and the guests raved about it. There were options for beef (I chose this and it was fantastically flavorful and tender), chicken and a vegetarian selection as well. The desserts did not disappoint either. I had chocolate cake... I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. The service was fantastic! Our server was very attentive and helpful with suggestions. The wine list was great and the food phenomenal. The salmon tartare and the cheese plate were delicious!

I loved the farm to table fresh food options and the bartender was great! I had a chicken dish that was to die for and my drinks were not overpriced. The server was knowledgeable about the food and the bartender knew his stuff (great moustache, too!)

Ate there on Monday night. Quite good food, pricy. Won't leave hungry or with a full wallet. Would be nice place for a romantic dinner date.
