Walking up the stairs to reach the loft is like going back in time. A quaint restaurant that has been in Lancaster for many years has retained the look of thirty or forty years ago which is its charm. Dark wood paneling and high leather booths are something you don't see much anymore, at least not authentic decor like this.... More

Went to the Loft again this past Saturday for my birthday dinner. Took along a friend who is not really fond of American foods yet. That changed on Saturday. We started with soups, and this is where you can't go wrong. I'm hung up on the French Onion soup because it's just perfect. My foreign friend, who doesn't really like... More

Food is good but pricy. Location is not the best. The decor is not what one would expect at this price point. Service was ok. Probably will not return. Mostly because our server was horrible.

Lancaster City is a bustling, happening place to be. The restaurant and art gallery scene is incredible. New restaurants are popping up all the time, French, Vietnamese, Indian, fusion, every thing is here. And in that flurry of foodie activity, when most all restaurants are jammed every weekend, many with brilliant but inconsistent food, there is a steady hold out.... More

This use to be one of our favorite places but we have not been there for a long while. The good parts were the Escargot appetizer and the free Chocolate Dipped Strawberries for dessert. We ordered a Caesar salad as the waiter did not tell us a salad came with the meal and we didn't like the dressing on the... More

Fine dining in a booth doesn't seem right. Prices on high side for what we received. We were never informed Salad came with our meals. Food was average. Parking is very hard to find.

My wife and I and 2 other couples ate at the Loft recently on a Saturday night. They are known for their fine Prime Rib so to be sure I could enjoy this I called ahead to reserve my piece. Gunther the owner pleasantly agreed to save me a piece. And, oh my was it superb. I love Prime Rib... More

Had a fabulous dinner on Friday 07 Feb '14. My girlfriend planned a date night, the first stop was The Loft. Great fine dining, cozy atmosphere, and Lisa was put through her paces. We had tickets for the Fulton, and before we knew it, our time was up. Lisa saw at first we were in no hurry, and we were... More

New Year's Eve at the Loft has become a tradition for me. Although the menu for this special evening is limited, the service is first-class and the food delicious. My dining companion and I opted for the same meal: escargot en croute as an appetizer and prime rib. This evening, all meals came with a salad and chocolate mousse served... More
