Saturday evening out

My wife and I ate here for the first time. Atmosphere was pleasant, with plain decor which may be expected in Lancaster County. Service was excellent. I had a special of Baked Cod, New England Clam Chowder and Lemon Cake with white icing. It was nicely presented and tasted delicious. My... read more

We tried the Loft based on a recommendation of a Foodie friend. We made reservations for Valentines evening dinner. We were seated promptly and had an attentive wait staff. The special menu was somewhat limited but enough selection to cover many tastes. The Fillet was ordered medium and was tender, great flavor, and cooked perfectly. My wife had Salmon and... More

Food, serious food. Don't judge this place by the trip up the dingy steps to get to the dining room or the bare bones decor upstairs. Come here for well-prepared, meals using fresh ingredients. The Loft is a chef-owner restaurant. The chef-owner was there in whites the Thursday we were there. The chef was able to answer questions on the... More

First time visit with friends. This place is a hidden gem. Not very well advertised . Definitely known by the locals. Mushroom soup was delicious. Excellent specials. Wonderful relaxing pace. Not a place to go if you're in a hurry. With in walking distance of Fulton Theater.

I was visiting The Loft for a large business dinner for 21 people. Prior our group leader called to make reservations and they accomodated a special menu for our group. Each table tried 3 entrees which included shrimp cocktail, lamb, and clams. Everyone highly enjoyed. Dinner options included Filet with Crab, Scallops, Salmon and pasta dish. The Filet was the... Well , the ambience is lacking! Service was so bad! We were ignored except for actually taking our order. Some of the food was good- fried oyster appetizer was delish! Scallops were good . But seriously! Ask us if we want a second cocktail- they weren't even busy ! No wonder ! Won't go back.

My friend and I had lunch at the Loft after doing some Christmas shopping in downtown Lancaster. I remembered the Loft from years ago when I ate dinner there. They have very good food (and the wine was excellent); however, I didn't find the portions to be very big. If you are hungry, you might want to consider getting an... More

Went for first time with two girlfriends after having in the back of my mind for 8(!) years. With a reputation for being top notch, we were left disappointed in service. We sat at least 10 minutes before anyone greeted us at our table. Server barely spoke at all and was hard to catch if we needed something. We were... More

My wife and I had another great meal at the Loft Restaurant over the weekend before going to the Fulton Theater. As usual, the service was wonderful (very helpful in getting us to the show on time) and the drinks and meal (especially the scollops) were great. The beginning salad was almost too much but so good! This restaurant always... More

From anyone that remembers the charm of the Americana era as seen in the movie Swingers or the series Mad men this is an experience that need to be cherished. Walk up the stairs to a throwback of dark wooden paneling with leather booths accented with ivy from the ceiling rafters. The menu is a classic fare of American cuisine... More
