Diamond in the Rough!

Our family was looking for a place to eat before seeing a play at the Fulton Theatre. Found this diamond in the rough. Incredible and authentic food at great prices. You'd be crazy not to stop in and try the made to order tacos, enchiladas and desserts. Al Pastor taco was my favorite!

While visiting in Lancaster, PA, we were excited to find an authentic Mexican Restaurant only to be very disappointed with entire experience. We ordered a Nacho Platter that came with rock hard Tortilla Chips with no taste, Shredded Pork with no taste and wasn't properly heated as it was cold, a few tomatoes and lettuce, as well as some kind... I grew up spending my summers out west and this resturant brought me right back with my mouth happy and wanting more. The menu is very authentic and the guacamole to die for.

La Cocina Mexicana is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) place to eat in downtown Lancaster. It's nothing to look at, particularly, but the food is delicious and it's very inexpensive. The woman who owns the restaurant is terrific (and always there!) and all of the staff are really helpful. It's hard to choose between the taco options... More

Terrific, mostly authentic, Mexican food. They make their own hot sauces -- pay attention when you're told which is which! Surprisingly extensive menu for such a small place, with plenty of seafood, egg, and vegetarian dishes, not just one more taco joint. The seating is very limited, maybe 20 people, and is close-together. It's a tight squeeze but well worth... More

Just happened to pass by at lunchtime on a Tuesday, a happy find. Menu focuses on the standards. Our choices were fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced (eggs and Mexican ham; mixed veg with Mexican rice). The inside is plain and cheerful, with friendly service. You can't get an appetizer anymore in Manhattan for what my friend and I paid... More

I stopped for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the true Mexican dishes and drinks. I love horchata and licuados o platano. Tacos of picadillo, tortas and carne asada you can't go wrong. I would recommend to a friend.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Authentic dishes, well prepared. A very nice selection of sauces, be careful of the habanero!

We moved from southern California and really wanted to find real food. This is not it. The space is depressing, the service was remarkably slow and unpleasant. The portions tiny and food lacked flavor, really missed the mark
