If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue lately, you haven't visited El Serrano. Or, perhaps it is more appropriate to say, you haven't visited Peru. Every square inch of the Latin-American restaurant has been extensively redesigned, upgraded and refurbished authentically, with architectural details similar to those of 150 years ago--to the point that stepping through its hand-carved mahogany doors is like entering a Peruvian hacienda. As owner Manuel Torres says, "it's like going on vacation."

On a weekend vacation with my mom and kids. The 3 "Ladies" are very picky eaters but everyone enjoyed their meals. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Thank you El Serrano

Been going there for years since they were in a little building that I think used to be a Dairy Queen in West York. It's our favorite place to go and we've tried everything on the menu and haven't had a complaint. The food has been consistent over the years. We were so excited they were building a place in... didn't know what to expect going to a Peruvian restaurant. One of the most elegant restaurants I have been in. Service by Adam was superb. Menu was fantastic. I ordered a special salmon dish as well as the other couple and my husband ordered a special beef tenderloin dinner with French fries, onions and tomatoes and a delicious sauce. He... More

My wife and I were at El Serrano on a Saturday evening for a date night dinner. We arrived at 5:15 and had to wait about 10 minutes for a tabloe. We were seated in a small, private alcove for which we were greatful as the restaurant filled up. The server was very attentive and friendly. The staff, overall, seemed... More

We knew it would be busy for a Saturday night, that's why our group of six headed for the bar area for a table. Arriana was on the spot with her great service, small talk, and smile. Then, it was off to the dining room with good entertainment over the speakers. Our entrees were prepared fine and never felt rushed.... More

El Serrano's does a great job from facility to staff to quality of food. Mexican entrees are very good - but get some adventure in your Central PA palette and try food from their Peruvian selections. The Lomo Saltado is authentic and tasteful. Two areas for improvement: 1. Having traveled South and Central America and the Caribbean, I can say... More

My boyfriend and I randomly found out about El Serrano from a couple we had met at the Thistle Finch Distillery. They were moving from Lancaster and we asked them what was on their 'Lancaster Bucket List' and El Serrano was on there. So we took their recommendation and decided to check it for ourselves the very next day. It... More

We went to the wine-pairing/tasting dinner with the guest chef from Peru on 12/20/2015. The meal started with a fizzy wine and one inch squares of sirloin and empanadas. The empanadas were lacking in flavor - tasted like backed pie dough. The first course was a white wine with a ceviche and a scallop. These were wonderful. Next came Malbecs.... More

My wife and I recently stopped by this restaurant along with another couple and enjoyed a very good dinner. The facility offers an interesting and enjoyable Latin America ambiance as well as a cuisine that is unique for the Lancaster area. The menu included something for everyone. My wife enjoyed a fajita while I enjoyed the Arroz Con Mariscos (sallops,... More
