Description: If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue lately, you haven't visited El Serrano. Or, perhaps it is more appropriate to say, you haven't visited Peru. Every square inch of the Latin-American restaurant has been extensively redesigned, upgraded and refurbished authentically, with architectural details similar to those of 150 years ago--to the point that stepping through its hand-carved mahogany doors is like entering a Peruvian hacienda. As owner Manuel Torres says, "it's like going on vacation."

Out of this world salsa! The guacamole was fresh and flavorful! Every meal at the table was wonderful but my Peruvian shrimp dish in a cream sauce was by far the best. The waitress was excellent, too. The pace wasn't fast but for the obvious freshness it was worth the wait.

For starters, our server was the best. Knowledgeable, attentive and on point. I know I'm going to have a good service, when I ask a question or two, that I may or may not already know the answer to and the server answers it instantly and confidently. Also, when my soda was low he was on his way back with... More

The Peruvian cuisine mixed with Mexican is interesting, flavorful and worth a visit. El Serrano has several dining spaces, including a lovely open air courtyard, and a separate upscale restaurant cal lent clementines on the second floor. The woodwork in the upstairs restaurant is beautiful. This. Is nothing like a Tex-Mex restaurant. My favorite dish is the grilled pork chops... More

I believe the cuisine of this restaurant is advertised as Tex-Mex, but it is more than that. I've tried many entrees, all of which are superb, but my favorite is the tender beef Loma Saltado with wonderful Peruvian flavor sauce. With live music in the courtyard, it's just a wonderful place to break from the stresses of everyday life for... More

Wasn't really looking for ethnic food, but Sat. night crowds at all the spots we wanted to try left us with fewer choices. Very happy that took place since it caused us to end up at El Serrano. As first-timers, we were hesitant, but Cory, our server, knew the ropes, gave suggestions, and was just an informed, pleasant, sweet server,... More

We came here for our 18th Wedding Anniversary with my wife's parents based on their recommendation and the reviews we've read on it. The food was quite good, however the service was sloooooooooooooow. We basically felt ignored the entire night despite be placed directly in front of their "live entertainment." It appeared that our waitress was assigned a different part... More

After riding the back roads of Lancaster buying everything from fresh eggs to jam to corn on the cob, to just-picked watermelon, it was time for a complete change of pace – so why not go to a Peruvian Restaurant for lunch ! As noted by other reviewers, the place is both gigantic and beautiful. It was a Saturday afternoon... More

No problems here. Service was amazingly great for a slow Sunday evening. Our meal came out very fast. Dinner for four was very good and tasty. My wife had Chiles Rellenos and they were excellent. I had Shrimp Fajitas and they were very good but with a little too many onions and light on the peppers. Our guests had Combos... More

I have been there before but never tried the Tappas. I would recommend it. First you are upstairs and it is not crowded. You get table cloths and cloth napkins which is rare now. Our waiter was Justin (spells it differently) and he is excellent and personable. I would recommend to see if you could ask for him. He can... More
