Description: If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue...
If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue lately, you haven't visited El Serrano. Or, perhaps it is more appropriate to say, you haven't visited Peru. Every square inch of the Latin-American restaurant has been extensively redesigned, upgraded and refurbished authentically, with architectural details similar to those of 150 years ago--to the point that stepping through its hand-carved mahogany doors is like entering a Peruvian hacienda. As owner Manuel Torres says, "it's like going on vacation."

This place was so fun! The inside was beautifully themed. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced! I'm a vegetarian and found a meal no problem. I wished I lived in the area so I could go back more often. Great place for any day or to make a special occasion that much... More

The atmosphere was very nice, as was the food that was served in a timely manner. Only problem was with the rude waitress we had who blatantly rolled her eyes at us after we requested her to hold the entrees we ordered, only because she had offered us the option in the first place after we asked whether she had... Excellent food, and excellent atmosphere. Reasonably priced for what you get. The only downfall is their hours were cut back. However, it's still my favorite place. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's the best Mexican food that I've ever had in Pennsylvania.

We've been going to El Sorrano for around 25 years. The only thing wrong with it is sometimes is too full and you'll have to wait to be seated. Great food and drinks, always good service, and if you go on the weekend, you get to listen to Dante play guitar and sing (and whistle). Perfect evening. Lunches are good... More

This restaurant is possibly the largest and most tasteful and authentic site I can recall. In fact, it is actually 3 restaurants in one. Able to seat hundreds, in dozens of motifs and private dining niches, the place is immense. Also, also ask Melanie, the founder's delightful daughter, to tour the wine cellar. There is more authentic wood works and... More

I was expecting typical Mexican fare. The Peruvian selections were a pleasant surprise and all excellent. I had beef, my son shrimp and his fiancee vegetarian. My wife hab a burrito. We all agreed the food was delicious and the service attentive.

Felix is our server this evening, great guy, very knowledgeable about the menu and the food itself. Speaking of the food, INCREDIBLE! Our meals were outstanding! The drinks were the same! Between the service and the food...easily one of my favorite haunts!

We found this place by pure luck. We chose this place because of the food's origin and we were not let down in the minimum. The entrance service was not so good, but every waiter and waitress is very welcoming and helpful, also very friendly. They have such a nice variety of dishes that it's difficult to choose, but whatever... More
