Description: If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue...
If you haven't visited El Serrano along Lancaster's Columbia Avenue lately, you haven't visited El Serrano. Or, perhaps it is more appropriate to say, you haven't visited Peru. Every square inch of the Latin-American restaurant has been extensively redesigned, upgraded and refurbished authentically, with architectural details similar to those of 150 years ago--to the point that stepping through its hand-carved mahogany doors is like entering a Peruvian hacienda. As owner Manuel Torres says, "it's like going on vacation."

great mexican / south american food

First time to the restaurant was for my son's 30th birthday. Not a place I would have chosen but was really glad he did. Great food and service. Definitely recommended.

We ate in the Tapas place on the 2nd floor. We had a few couples with a private room. Our waiter was excellent. I actually think it is actually better to go with a larger group so you can then order several types of tapas and share which is what we did. My favorite and I think is a must... More

We were looking for good Mexican and/or South American food. Arrived just as a rainstorm started to all the staff standing outside to watch it. When we Entered the staff was screwing around, even getting in out way to enter the building. The host apologized for the behavior. They took our orde and it came as ordered. The food was... More

Nice atmosphere. good margaritas. had garlic shrimp. just ok. was with clients and their meals looked interesting. Service left a lot to be desired after young server reached across me to serve another person and spilled hot liquid in my lap and hand. NEED TO PROPERLY TRAIN SERVERS!!!

We haven't been back in a while . The cost of Margaritas is a little high. What I found annoying is they charge extra for a second basket of chips and salsa. If you buy 2 margaritas and two meals the check is OVER $45 . I would think it would be good customer service to give extra chips and... More

My daughter and I stopped at El Serrano's yesterday for dinner. I had the Pollo le Parillo. which was marinated chicken breasts with white rice and steamed veggies. The chicken was very tasty and moist. Service was excellent, would definitely go back again.

Peruvian food with a Mexican flare and authentic ambiance. Fun place for a birthday celebration for my 'mature' mom. Excellent "dirty" margaritas, ordered on the rocks. Our server, Jordan, was attentive without being intrusive. Steak fajitas, sizzled with flavor and very tender steak. Order a side of hot sauce but watch out, it's pureed jalapeno, delicious but lethal. Share the... More

There were 17 people in our gathering and they managed to seat us at one large table. The food was very good and our server was terrific. After dinner a tour was arranged and it was informative. We met the owner upstairs and he was a very friendly. Give it a try, you won't be disapointed. Make sure you call... More

No human ever answers the phone when calling this restaurant....No personal touch...Perhaps, they are successful in spite of their selves... Our first lunch experience....no outside signs let us know where the main entrance was...front of the building had a wrought iron gait and we thought that was the main entrance. Drove around twice and realized that we should enter though... More
