Interesting

This is an interesting place to eat - rustic chic. It is small (they call it intimate) & they use in season local vegetables - the night we were there, fresh peas were in several of the selections. They have a nice variety of interesting menu items & we liked everything that we ordered. They have a... read more

My husband ate here for the first time last night after hearing rave reviews about it. Our server was delightful and very knowledgeable and excited about the food. There were many things on the menu we hadn't heard of, but we were excited to try them. The presentation was lovely and the food was good, but not exceptional. There was... More

Both my dining companion and myself thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was masterfully prepared and the flavors and ingredients were exciting. The chef clearly has a great love for and understanding of food. As the small dining area filled up it did get noisy and conversation became difficult. Other than that, a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend... More

Greatly anticipated my first visit. Oh, why did I wait so long. Clams with roasted lentils, rabbit ragu with Sardinian pasta, wow. Not a restaurant for the faint of heart. What you get is what is fresh, prepared to perfection. They advise they are welcoming you to their home. They must have a lot of friends over often. Busy, bustling... More

We had a dinner party for 10 in the upstairs room and it was fantastic! Everything was served family style and we couldn't have asked for a better night. Pheasant Pate and brussel sprouts both on homemade bread. A simple fennel and orange salad was tremendous. Braised beef cheeks with parsnip purée and root vegetables was so hearty and flavorful!... Based on one visit only! A nice attempt by Maison last night however misses the mark........... Food, creative to the point of so much going on it losses definition of flavor. Service, trying however your staff needs training. Atmosphere, active city like. Speak up to be heard!

Maison is now my favorite restaurant in Lancaster. At my most recent visit, the Italian notes that were background in my previous meals were up front - a fabulous addition to this already outstanding restaurant. The homemade burrata came with a light slow-cooked proscuitto dressing that put the already fabulous appetizer over the top. My husband's tomato panzella was a... More

we met friends here for dinner on a Saturday night. This is a tiny place, so reservations are a must. Very good food and service. About half dozen appetizers per night and an equal number of entrees. Portions are smallish and most entrees are pasta based. This is not a cheap place, by any stretch of the imagination. Expect $100... More

Don't let the faded sign put you off. If you like excellent food, this is one of the best restaurants in PA (and I've eaten at a lot of great restaurants in Philly). Menu is small (4 entrees, 5-6 appetizers), but each dish was excellent. My wife loves fresh mozzarella and thought the homemade burrata was even better. Pear and... More
