A little bit of their home

Greatly anticipated my first visit. Oh, why did I wait so long. Clams with roasted lentils, rabbit ragu with Sardinian pasta, wow. Not a restaurant for the faint of heart. What you get is what is fresh, prepared to perfection. They advise they are welcoming you to their home. They must have a lot... read more

We had a dinner party for 10 in the upstairs room and it was fantastic! Everything was served family style and we couldn't have asked for a better night. Pheasant Pate and brussel sprouts both on homemade bread. A simple fennel and orange salad was tremendous. Braised beef cheeks with parsnip purée and root vegetables was so hearty and flavorful!... Based on one visit only! A nice attempt by Maison last night however misses the mark........... Food, creative to the point of so much going on it losses definition of flavor. Service, trying however your staff needs training. Atmosphere, active city like. Speak up to be heard!

Maison is now my favorite restaurant in Lancaster. At my most recent visit, the Italian notes that were background in my previous meals were up front - a fabulous addition to this already outstanding restaurant. The homemade burrata came with a light slow-cooked proscuitto dressing that put the already fabulous appetizer over the top. My husband's tomato panzella was a... More

we met friends here for dinner on a Saturday night. This is a tiny place, so reservations are a must. Very good food and service. About half dozen appetizers per night and an equal number of entrees. Portions are smallish and most entrees are pasta based. This is not a cheap place, by any stretch of the imagination. Expect $100... More

Don't let the faded sign put you off. If you like excellent food, this is one of the best restaurants in PA (and I've eaten at a lot of great restaurants in Philly). Menu is small (4 entrees, 5-6 appetizers), but each dish was excellent. My wife loves fresh mozzarella and thought the homemade burrata was even better. Pear and... More

The service was exceptional The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and couldn't be of more help to us. The food was good. I had the duck ravioli which was amazing, but they added a lot of beans etc, and it just wasn't necessary. I would've preferred 2 more ravioli and less of the extras. My husband got the scallops, and they were... More

Farm to table is the "thing" these days. While certainly eating food from the farm adds a special touch, it still comes down to preparation and this Napa Culinary Arts trained chef creates specialties that are impeccable. The menu is somewhat limited in terms of choices (you'll understand why when you see the size of the kitchen) but you are... More

Here is the most important thing to know about Ma(i)son: the food is lovely. Chef owners Taylor and Leeann Mason delight in letting each ingredient be itself, delivering tight harmonies of seasonal vegetables and herbs featuring rabbit, cornish hen, beef, boar, pasta or seafood. The menu uses words like burrata (squeaky white cheese), chevre (goat's milk cheese), sugo (Italian pasta... More
