We had a Corporate dinner at Checkers Bistro last week and it was a wonderful experience. The Service was impeccable. The food was great, however, I was expecting a few more items to chose from on the menu. Location is perfect for guests staying at the Lancaster Arts Hotel - just a short walk across the parking lot. The guests... More

Chef Daniel Quishpe was my first neighbor in Lancaster. On the sidewalk one day he told me to check out Checkers Bistro. “We’re doing something a little different,” he said. I did check it out, and Checkers was different. The restaurant seemed to be run through the ground floors of several former townhouses. Each dining space was appointed in a... More

My husband and I arrived at 7:30 with a dinner reservation on a Friday. The bistro was bustling with activity, most tables filled when we arrived, most still when we left two hours later. We were immediately shown to a table, and given menus and water. In no time we had orders in, though we never felt any pressure to... More

We have been going to Checkers since it was at its previous location on James Street. Terrific food and not a budget buster. We are fans of the Duck Tacos & Coffee Crusted Filet. Relaxed dining experience!

We loved Checkers as a breakaway small fine dining establishment, but now that they've taken over Rosa Rosa's old building, I thought perhaps the menu would change. What they serve is typically very good to excellent, depending on your server. I went a few weeks ago, and ordered a clear chocolate marting, which I've gotten there many many many times...... More

We go to Checkers for special meals, and it never fails us. Now that they've moved into their new location, I love it even more. I was worried that when they moved into the old Rosa Rosa location, that they'd lose some of the cozy ambience that they are known for. Not so! It is even better, in my opinion.... More

Every element of our experience was excellent. The service was wonderful. Our server was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. She even brought out a pillow for our 3 year old who fell asleep on the bench during dinner! The food was impeccable! Every dish was freshly made to order and so tasty. You could tell the ingredients were fresh. Each... More

The restaurant is just beautiful inside. While driving I was a little nervous about the area we were driving through but it was fine once we got nearer the restaurant. Great bar area to wait in and we only had to wait about 5 minutes before we were seated. The service was a little slow to begin with but once... More

Not sure how many times my wife and I have been to Sukothai 3-4 doors down (see review, excellent) and never noticed Checkers Bistro in the same "strip" shopping center. The upscale, brick interior certainly is 180 degrees from the exterior. The bar looks inviting. The french onion soup was good, what one expects. I had the filet mignon which... More

Before deciding to try Checkers for lunch, we looked online at their menu and decided what we wanted. When we got there and were given a menu, the menu was totally different than what was online. The server said the online menu had not been updated. The lunch choices were poor so we just decided on soup, salad and the... More
