Great Food, Terrible Service

We went here for brunch this passed weekend and the food was very good. There was a great selection and all of the portions were actually normal. They had smaller waffles instead of full size for example, so you wouldn't just waste the food. Of course, you could take as many as you want though... read more

We visited with another couple for "Throwback" Thursdays...Turkey was just ok. Beef Burgundy was not good, but my husband liked the Fish and Chips...All you can eat salad bar was less than desirable. Waitress was nice. Restaurant is dated and smells musty. Not worth the price.

Being in Peddlers Village, we had expected more. The food was ordinary in the extreme and the service was very poor. Go some place else.

I live just a few miles from this "local attraction", but I feel the responsibility to warn anyone planning to pay a visit: This place is a tourist trap. Rubbery, overcooked food, flat champagne, terrible service. You won't find any locals dining here. Peddler's Village is beautiful, but Cock 'n Bull is no representation of what the village has to... Nice pretty room even allowed us to check in early. After that don't even think about staying here. Staff are rude...if I had to listen to the bartender one more time talk about closing at 9! Everything either closes early or isn't open. Don't bother calling the front desk for extra pillows etc...they don't answer! No one delivers so your... More

One of my Christmas presents to my wife this year was to reserve a room at the Golden Plough Inn with dinner reservations at the Cock n' Bull restaurant for their annual German Bavarian Dinner. I made this reservation in Mid-December for January 16th at 7:30 pm. My wife and I were taking this opportunity to try German Cuisine for... More

The Cock ‘n Bull hosted a Bavarian Night with a special guest chef. We were excited to go along with our German friends on Saturday, January 17, 2015. We learned that reservations were available so we made them, but that didn’t seem to matter. The restaurant was jam-packed and we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. Once seated,... More

Went for an early dinner on New Year's eve. Good service, good food and reasonable prices. The second seating was very busy and the lobby was crowded when we exited the restaurant, but we were not rushed through our meal.

If you've got a salt and pepper allergy, this is the place for you! In a nutshell, service staff needs attitude adjustments, the decor needs to be dusted and the food lacks any flavor... Not to mention, every other dish had broccoli in it. I love broccoli, but come on, there's other vegetables out there! Right-of-the-bat we noticed that the... More
