The rooftop dining is open year round. Warm, sunny spot to enjoy lunch and a drink. Great selection of beers and food is consistently good. Great service.

The food wasn't bad, but it felt overpriced for what we got. Maybe I'm just not used to East Coast prices. They did have a diverse selection of beers on tap.

The offerings are interesting. We had a wild sampler appetizer which consisted of elk, bison and kangaroo. The bison was excellent, the elk was charred a bit but it worked, the kangaroo was completely tasteless. I have never had kangaroo before so I couldn't tell if it was prepared well or not. The mushroom soup was delicious. Not heavy cream... More

We were visiting relatives in the area & they suggested we all try the Half Moon for a Saturday evening dinner. They feature a variety of game meat dishes. My wife tried the elk meat dish, which she found to be quite good. I tried the the Flat iron steak and enjoyed it. They also have a number of beers... More

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Longwood Gardens. I had heard that it was the best beer selection in the area. It didn't disappoint! The upstairs is a nice covered outdoor spot. (The beer list is shorter up there, though.) We had the Blueberry Barbecue Sandwich and the Boar Cheek Sliders. Both were excellent. Recommend!

We went to this restaurant specifically to try their game meat. We tried the Elk Nachos, a meat platter with that had different types of game meat and the Gator Gumbo. I loved everything, except the gumbo which was only okay - but this could have more to do with my own taste palate than any shortcoming on the part... More

The Half Moon Restaurant offers a few game dishes as well as American dishes. My husband had the buffalo and really liked it, I opted for crab cakes which where OK but not great. I would try one of the game dishes if I went back. They offer a roof top porch but be careful when you go it faces... More

Stopped in because we remembered seeing this restaurant on the Food Channel. We weren't disappointed. Casual atmosphere and interesting atmosphere. Elk nachos were tasty and the portion was large enough to share. Portobello sandwich was good. It was a little noisy sitting near the bar, but overall a great meal.

Food: Kangaroo tart: yum! The meat is different, little gamey at the end, but goes well on the tart with the goat cheese. Smoked exotic mushroom bisque: Freakin super. A little smoky, a little spicy, a lot delicious We made the mistake of getting some salads. I don’t know why. My wedge salad was underwhelming, and the spring salad I... More

I was craving fresh mushroom soup. We had eaten here several years ago but couldn't remember the name. We persisted and found the roof top seating we had so loved!! Exotic mushroom bisque was spectacular! My husband had the gumbo which he loved. We split the Bacon Buffaloaf sandwich. It was so very tender and tasty! Our waitress forgot the... More
