I emailed the restaurant to let them know that 2 of us got sick after eating there on saturday October 25, 2014. they didn't seem to care. there were 4 of us all having different meals. the only same foods eaten by the 2 who got sick were the mushroom soup and the creme brulee. i suspect the mushroom soup.

My family and I decided to try this restaurant again after a poor first experience when they had just opened. The menu looked great and much improved, however the prices extremely high, which is fine if the food is top notch, and I don't doubt that it is. I ordered the butternut squash soup and an entrée clearly stating 3... More

We read the reviews before booking, and this place has a great following. The service was caring and excellent. Unfortunately, we were not impressed and will not be back. Firstly, the layout of the tables in the restaurant is strange, a wood tree trunk, booths, tables, sloping areas, just not appealing. The bread served was good, with a nice vegetable... More

We hadn't really researched restaurants before we arrived and not being from the area weren't up to speed on the licensing laws in PA. We had a delicious cider at the nearby marketplace and purchased a bottle of Cabernet Franc to bring to dinner. Byrsa was busy but they were very accommodating and our server was very friendly and helpful.... More

It is not every restaurant where eight guests can sit down and all be delighted with each dish…particularly when the dishes are not selected by the guests. At Byrsa Bistro, it was truly a “home run”! The eight of us asked owner Ahmed Ochraga to provide suggestions, which he was happy to do. In the end, we all said the... More

We were a group of 4. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Started our meal with a Mediterranean sampler of hummus, babaganush, olives, stuffed grape leaves and pita. The beet salad was also very good. The lemon vinaigrette was light and added a wonderfully delicate flavor to the salad. Salmon, paella, chicken tangene and a vegetarian bursa all were winners.... Our appetizer of layered eggplant, mozzarella, mushroom and tomato was good, but the portabella mushroom was out of place taste wise. Grilled zucchini would have been a better choice. The spicy carrot appetizer was overly sweet. Too small an amount of octopus in the large salad. The chicken in the tagine was over cooked and my husband's seafood stew was again a... More

A lot of local restaurants, even some very good ones, run together in your mind after awhile. Byrsa will not fit into that category. The food is well prepared and an excellent change from the same old thing. They call it Mediterranean which covers a wide range of geography and cuisine. Service and ambiance are both very nice but nowhere... More

We recently went to Kennett Square to attend a comedy show. We arrived early to grab a bite to eat. My wife and I have been to several restaurants in Kennett and were prepared to "do the same old thing" again. Kennet's Main Street is small and we decided to stroll the 3 blocks to see if there was anything... More

I have been to Byrsa Bistro several times for both lunch and dinner during the past 18 months and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is calming and, if you want a lighter environment, I recommend asking to be seated by the windows where you can watch the world go by and also enjoy some natural lighting. I would definitely... More
