My wife and I took a day to explore Kennett Square, PA. We found the community to be enchanting. By chance we stopped at Portabello"s for lunch. The menu was varied and very reasonable. Our food was delicious. Our server, Brian, was knowledgeable and attentive. This is a can't miss treasure.

Spent 2 nights in Chadds Ford and had amazing meals both nights. The menu had unique dishes that were delicious. I enjoyed noodles with portobello mushrooms. My husband had calamari which was a thick steak, grilled with salsa. Best he's ever had. Our friends both selected the trout special and agreed the seasoning and preparation was delectable. We shared 4... More

What a hidden gem! Small, only about 16 tables so make reservations! First impression was warm and welcomed by the staff. Sandra, the owner was so personable and present. Just a lovely lady to talk to. Her husband is the Chef, and again...so nice and TALENTED! To start, we were presented with the most scrumptious warm bread from Brooklyn with... More

We split mushroom crepes and ginger goat cheese salad and both were fabulous! I can't wait to go back for the salad again. I was surprised how few people were in the restaurant for lunch I think they need to offer more combo lunches but if you can split with someone the food is awesome!

The food was delicious; creatively prepared by the chef. We went to the Portabello after an afternoon spent wondering the glories of Longwood Gardens. We went with a younger couple; friends of our daughter, and we all enjoyed the food and ambience. Loved that the chef and his wife came out afterward and chatted with us. I had the pecan... More

We took my mother-in-law to Portabello's after visiting the nearby Longwood Gardens. To tell you the truth, I didn't expect to find such a great restaurant in such a small town. We've lived in several major cities, and this was one of the better experiences at a restaurant in recent memory. What's great? The atmosphere, the food, the service. Also,... More

Headed there for lunch. Arrived at 2:10 and informed that lunch service ends at 2. We were disappointed. The server wouldn't even entertain squeezing in 2 people.

My husband and I, along with another couple, had a terrific experience at Portabello's this past weekend. It was the second time we had been there, and we were reminded of how great it was. As soon as Chef Brett (who co-owns it with his charming wife) visited our table, prior to us ordering, we knew we would not be... More

Went with a party of 6 for my Mom's birthday. The service was top notch. Accommodating, friendly and knowledgable but not overbearing. The food was delicious. We had apps, salad and entrees and all of us loved everything. The mushroom crepe appetizer was everyone's favorite though. BYOB is very nice. Portions were plentiful and prices fair. Food was fresh and... More

Prices are in line with the quality, fresh food, and full portions!! Mushroom crapes, iceberg lettuce hearts, and desert. I could have eaten just the crispy bread with fresh homemade spreads. Service was attentive, pleasant, and not too overbearing.
