This restaurant does everything quite well. The menu is interesting, the food well prepared and served with attentive wait staff. We especially liked that they offered small portions on the standard menu. The place was quiet and well located in central Kennett Square. We had a very agreeable quiet dinner.

Our Innkeeper recommended Portabello's. The food was indeed wonderful, fresh ingredients, interesting use of them. The gazpacho was terrific, as was the stuffed portabello mushroom appetizer with crab and creme fraiche. We ordered flounder, cod and veal and all were very good. The hostess had told us when we called for a reservation (only a few hours before) that it... More

We had a great dinner at Portabello's in Kennett Square last night! It was my sister's birthday. They were incredibly welcoming and accommodating! The waitstaff was very attentive but not annoyingly so. The food was delicious. I think the gazpacho was the best I've ever had! Everyone loved their meals. Delicious desserts - especially the salted caramel cake. We had... More

We recently had a wonderful meal here after being lucky enough to get a last-minute reservation. There are 2 small tables on the sidewalk outside. Tables inside are far enough apart so that diners are comfortable and can enjoy eating without feeling as though they are sitting right on top of the party next to them. Service was very good.... My garden club was touring Winterthur and Longwood and stopped here for dinner. The choices sounded so good that we decided to all order appetizers (2 each ) and share . No wonder this is the mushroom Capitol!!!! The Eskimo Candy was to die for. The Pom Pom mushrooms over buckwheat pasta outstanding. The calamari ..melt in your mouth.

Here the owner came out and told us the different mushrooms he uses in his dishes and his soups. He was very energetic about his process and was extremely excited to be telling us his methods.

We were returning from Lancaster County and wanted to eat in a Kennett Square restaurant. Having seen high positive ranking of Portabello's on Trip Advisor, we stopped in at late afternoon and were lucky to be seated promptly even without a reservation. The meal, service and friendly atmosphere were all superb and we had a most enjoyable time.

I Stopped here on the insistence of a friend. At First, I was just going to have the Mushroom Soup, as per my friends suggestion. Guess What? Despite no reservations, and the restaurant being sold out, the staff accommodated me and my date to an outside table, which was alright by me. The service was so good, we decided to... More

I stopped here with my mother on a trip back from VA (as per the recommendation of my uncle who was here a few months ago) for a light snack since we had a while back to travel home so we both ordered the stuffed portabello mushroom (because you can't come to the mushroom capital of the world and not...
