We took my mother-in-law to Portabello's after visiting the nearby Longwood Gardens. To tell you the truth, I didn't expect to find such a great restaurant in such a small town. We've lived in several major cities, and this was one of the better experiences at a restaurant in recent memory. What's great? The atmosphere, the food, the service. Also,... More

Headed there for lunch. Arrived at 2:10 and informed that lunch service ends at 2. We were disappointed. The server wouldn't even entertain squeezing in 2 people.

My husband and I, along with another couple, had a terrific experience at Portabello's this past weekend. It was the second time we had been there, and we were reminded of how great it was. As soon as Chef Brett (who co-owns it with his charming wife) visited our table, prior to us ordering, we knew we would not be... More

Went with a party of 6 for my Mom's birthday. The service was top notch. Accommodating, friendly and knowledgable but not overbearing. The food was delicious. We had apps, salad and entrees and all of us loved everything. The mushroom crepe appetizer was everyone's favorite though. BYOB is very nice. Portions were plentiful and prices fair. Food was fresh and... More

Prices are in line with the quality, fresh food, and full portions!! Mushroom crapes, iceberg lettuce hearts, and desert. I could have eaten just the crispy bread with fresh homemade spreads. Service was attentive, pleasant, and not too overbearing.

This restaurant does everything quite well. The menu is interesting, the food well prepared and served with attentive wait staff. We especially liked that they offered small portions on the standard menu. The place was quiet and well located in central Kennett Square. We had a very agreeable quiet dinner.

Our Innkeeper recommended Portabello's. The food was indeed wonderful, fresh ingredients, interesting use of them. The gazpacho was terrific, as was the stuffed portabello mushroom appetizer with crab and creme fraiche. We ordered flounder, cod and veal and all were very good. The hostess had told us when we called for a reservation (only a few hours before) that it... More

We had a great dinner at Portabello's in Kennett Square last night! It was my sister's birthday. They were incredibly welcoming and accommodating! The waitstaff was very attentive but not annoyingly so. The food was delicious. I think the gazpacho was the best I've ever had! Everyone loved their meals. Delicious desserts - especially the salted caramel cake. We had... More

We recently had a wonderful meal here after being lucky enough to get a last-minute reservation. There are 2 small tables on the sidewalk outside. Tables inside are far enough apart so that diners are comfortable and can enjoy eating without feeling as though they are sitting right on top of the party next to them. Service was very good.... My garden club was touring Winterthur and Longwood and stopped here for dinner. The choices sounded so good that we decided to all order appetizers (2 each ) and share . No wonder this is the mushroom Capitol!!!! The Eskimo Candy was to die for. The Pom Pom mushrooms over buckwheat pasta outstanding. The calamari ..melt in your mouth.
