Not Worth the Wait

From the outside, this establishment looked promising; however, the inside is a cluttered, dusty mess. The waitress was quickly overwhelmed once two tables had been seated. From the outside, this establishment looked promising; however, the inside is a cluttered, dusty mess. The waitress was quickly overwhelmed once two tables had been seated. After a long wait for both the food and drinks, we indulged in the breakfast. After a few sips of orange juice, I found a black, dead gnat floating in my juice. Disgusted, I... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the food and service of this restaurant. From the outside we didn't expect much but the food and service were great. The crab soup is very good.

This is our favorite restaurant in Jim Thorpe. Dorie and Steve always take good care of their customers and that is one of the reasons we keep going back after 8 years. This last visit I had the Panko Encrusted Shrimp in Bourbon Sauce with a sweet potato and broccoli, and my husband the "Mumbo Jumbo" Jambalaya. Both dishes were... More

There were five people at the restaurant when I went. That includes me. I sat outside. Ordered coffee. Got a cup of black coffee. Had to ask for a spoon, sugar and cream, which all came separately. Eventually got a napkin. I ordered and waited. And waited. Finally, the breakfast came. Ten minutes later, the toast. (it was breakfast). I... More

We ate at Through the Looking Glass for lunch today and were very pleased with the venue. Very eclectic with numerous Alice in Wonderland items and a wealth of other items on display. I had a portobello mushroom salad with sun dried tomatoes and my wife had their chicken salad. Both of our meals were delicious and the portions were... More

My wife and I stopped by this restaurant this week after a bike ride in the Jim Thorpe area. We were split between this and another restaurant in the area. Through the Looking Glass had a better selection for my wife so we chose here. There was an outdoor seating area, which was clean and roomy, but was not going... More

I over heard the boss being very rude to the employee's. I will not be going again, I refuse to give money to someone who talks to their employee's in such a manner.

Several times in the past year I have gone here with a friend for a catch up conversation and some good food. This last time I enjoyed Ellen's Foccacia which was very delicious and attractive to look at. The waiter was friendly although not the most experienced, but we got our food in a timely way and enjoyed our visit.... More

Looked interesting. Owner said everything was made from scratch so it sounded great. What she forgot to say was that it was made from scratch 2 days ago. I had a vegetable side that was clearly yesterday's vegetables pan 'burnt'. My husband had Pizza that required an eno chaser. Something needs to change😁

Do not be fooled by the quaint appearance of this place. You would expect a cozy looking place like this to serve you a thoughtful meal. Not so much. The "petite filet mignon" sandwich was over cooked, dry and not a filet by any means. No chips, not even a garnish. $2.00 soda was flat and warm. Waited forever for... More
