My wife and I had a very good experience at Bear Appetite a few years ago so when we were in Jim Thorpe today we decided to revisit the establishment, despite the bad reviews I had seen on tripadvisor. We weren't ready for a meal when we first passed the restaurant but we went it to see what their soup... More

Did they really need the TV on? Nobody was watching it and it was quite unnecessary. Portions are large. Food quality is OK. They made a mistake with my order of ice-cream and then snatched it away which was rather off-putting. I can't say service was good. So, although I haven't sampled every eating establishment in Jim Thorpe, I'd recommend... More

After our bike ride, we had lunch: sandwich side of salad, burger and fries. The sandwich was great and so big I could only eat half. My husband's burger was good too. Service was great, staff very friendly. Only wish I had room for their ice cream.

The café is across the street from the Inn at Jim Thorpe. It is open every day, but closes at 8 pm before Memorial Day. The food is good and the prices are reasonable for dinner (unlike the Broadway Grille). My husband and I ate breakfast and dinner there several times.

We looked at the menu at lunch time & the place seemed pretty busy, so we looked at their hours & thought let's try someplace new for dinner. Well, the bottom line is - they probably shouldn't even serve dinner. If they have happy people coming for lunch they should really stick to that. There were 3 tables including us.... More

If you are looking for a nice casual meal (soups, salads, sandwiches, etc) at a very decent price, this is the place to go. I had the grilled vegetable panini- it was very fresh and tasty. The owners/staff are very friendly and down to earth. I highly recommend it!

Had lunch here today. My husband and I both had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. We were not disappointed . The food was hot and plentiful . The servicer was very attentive. I would certainly eat her again. With so many upscale places in town this was a welcome relief .

Whenever we come to Jim Thorpe we have our lunches at Bear Appetit. Food is consistently good as is the service. Kathy and Carly were attentive and fun. They will also accommodate special needs. Good Job!

We were just strolling through town and decided to pop in for a quick lunch. The waitress was awesome and the value is great. I had a chicken wrap and my fiance had a salad. Portions are big and the food was really surprisingly good. Overall great value.
