I came to Jim Thorpe on a day trip with my family, after walking around and shopping for a good while we were tired and stopped in for a pick-me-up. Instantly walking in I seen the place and my eyes lit up I found the place very awesome. My brother asked the guy behind the counter of he could use... More

So I spent the day wandering downtown JT & stepped inside Strange Brew for a drink. There were 2 people at the register placing an order. Three feet next to the register is a small bar with 3 stools, so I sit at one. After the two were served the owner said to me, "Don't sit there, you have to... More

The owner is one strange guy. Notorious for giving customers a hard time for using $20 bills, even if your tab is close to that. Apparently unfamiliar with the concepts of "legal tender" or customer service. Apparently kept propped up by masochistic customers. If you're looking for coffee, try Alice's Pantry...I'm sure they'd be pleased to make change on your... More

Avoid this place. The owner is an idiot with is more concerned with patting himself on the back that he "owns" a business rather than providing a service.

Fun atmosphere and cool Rock and Roll History mural on the wall. Great place to relax with friends on the couches and sip a cup of your favorite beverage. They have a huge variety of coffee related drinks on their menu.

Walked into the place and felt like we were interrupting a conversation between a local and the barista/owner behind the counter. It was 4:55pm and we were freezing, just walking around looking for a place to sit at for a few minutes before going to dinner. Seeing the lights on, someone at the counter (def was a local), and not... More

We did not like the coffee at the place we were staying at so we walked down Broadway to find an open coffee shop. On Friday morning Strange Brew was the ONLY one open at 8:30am. You would think the others would be open for business but they were not. We bought two regular coffees. The cost was 3.00 which... More

Had a great mocha frappe, last minute decision. We were walking around for the first weekend of the fall festival and it was very warm and I saw the sign and thought it would be a cute stop. Inside is very nice, would have liked to sit a bit but we had tickets for the train. Liked that they had... More
