I was here for a birthday dinner on Wednesday the 19th August 2015 with some friends and family. We got a balcony table and the views were just awesome. We eneded up going for the 3 course lunch deal that was $59 a head including a glass of wine. Not bad value for money when you realise the food is... More

My hubby and I went here for my 51st birthday last weekend. It had been a few years since our last visit, which we really enjoyed also, so we couldn't wait!! It is nestled in the hills at the back of Terrigal, so the view over the ocean is perfect. We went of an evening tho so all we could... More

The Cowrie is one of our favourite restaurants on the Central Coast and delivers consistently good food and service. We really like their set lunch menus as the meals are excellent and provide great value.

I celebrated a "Special Birthday" there in June, 2015 with family. Every one thought the food was exceptionally good, very tasty and well presented. The service was excellent as well, and the views were fantastic! What more could you ask for? We will all be going back there again. The staff couldn't be more helpful & very friendly. We've lived in Terrigal for many years and this was only our second visit to The Cowrie as we always thought it was very expensive...which it is. If you do want to give it a try go for lunch so you can at least enjoy the view. At night you can't see much and there isn't a lot of atmosphere... More

I am drawn to a restaurant by the outlook, and The Cowrie does not disappoint. Try to book ahead and claim a table on the veranda. The menu is certainly fine dinning and has some lovely option. The lunch time set menu includes a glass of wine and is excellent value for money.

The food is nothing out of the ordinary. The menu is unappealing and awkward, trying too hard to mimic other successful sydney venues with zero finesse. The service however is embarrassingly rude and unprofessional. From the extremely sour older waiters who serve little more than resentful and nasty attitude top the 15 year old staff who struggle to understand the... More

Recently dined here for my father’s birthday. The place has had a facelift, replacing the old and tatty decor with a fresh and modern look, lifting the overall ambience significantly. Food could not be faulted, it was mouth watering. For me the mains were too large, if you want big meals you will love it. Too big to let me... More
