Bring the family

This is an excellent location to be able to sit back and enjoy. The friendly staff will cater to all your needs (including the fussiest of kids). Just about tried everything on the menu over the last few days and could recommend it all.

We asked to move tables as we were put at the front door under a fluro light. It was not a happy response from the waiters which made us all uncomfortable. The view is beautiful as is the food, wine and general service. Actual restaurant needs to freshen up decor and facilities. Curtesy bus was very handy.

We have been to this restaurant many times since I moved to the coast in 2010. Every time we visit is an absolute delight - the view, the food, the service. We have been as a family and as a couple and we never walk away disappointed. It is definitely a special occasion restaurant and we are glad its on... More

This used to be our favourite special occasions restaurant but, alas, no more. It's been fading from its former glory for the last few years (ever since they stopped serving the amazing garlic prawns they used to do) but now it has become distinctly average, while the prices have soared. We took a couple of friends recently - people who... More

Expensive, small portions and worst of all BLAND. It is so overrated. The best thing is the view and even that is pretty average. Like a previous reviewer (Sharon D) we also had to deal with a obnoxious child at the next table. Certainly the child was NOT the restaurants fault. But you would think they would have one section... Great food but small portions and expensive. Excellent view. Service not up to scratch last time we went in Jan 2015. Usually nice for a special dinner. Unfortunately last time we went it was spoilt by an obnoxious child at next table! We will go again when not holiday period.

Should you be so unwise as to come to this place, expect to pay about $100 a head. This wasn’t a problem for my wife and I who were looking forward to eating here to entertain six Australian friends who had been very kind to us. But when you pay this sort of money, you expect tiptop service. Actually the... More

Husbands 60th birthday celebration weekend, booked our group in as we were impressed with the food from our previous visits to the Cowrie. Group was more than pleasantly impressed by food and spectacular view; decor still needed to be updated,(function room was very ordinary also) this may now have been spruced up as it has been some months since our... This restaurant being perched at the top of the hill has spectacular views over Terrigal to the ocean. The menu is interesting, the food beautifully presented and tastes fantastic. Unfortunately it was the wait staff that were under whelming. Our waitress had a real lack of attention not filling my wine glass when she brought out the wine ( it... More

We were a group of 9 celebrating a birthday for a family member who had flown down from Queensland. The service and staff were excellent and the food terrific. Yes the prices are a bit pricey but the food is certainly worth it. As locals we have been there many times for special occasions and haven't been disappointed. Some of... More
