Recently a group of friends visited the Whale Restaurant and had the best local meal we have had for a long time. The service was fantastic, friendly and helpful. My partner is a vegetarian and normally has a choice of one dish however special effort was made to accommodate Susie. Thank you Matthew for making our experience such a pleasurable... More

We stayed at the motor inn and just wanted a nice dinner without getting far so we went in and we had such a nice surprise to find out our waiter was such a pro and gentel and welcoming and he knew exactly what to recommend to us. The food was very good, very fresh sea food (try the oysters... More

Having dined at the Whale Restaurant on a number of occasions, we [four of us] were disappointed with our recent evening meal. We all chose the fillet steak as our main. It came with a tiny piece of fillet and a few chunks of inedible brisket. What a curious combination! Brisket in the words of Wikipedia " must be cooked... More

This restaurant has a superb location with views over the Narooma Inlet and the panoramic coast through extensive glass windows on two sides. Inside the table settings reflect a superior ambience The service was attentive and concerned. We had the Antipasti plate, excellent selection of local fish and meats, mushrooms nicely charred vegetables and 3 flavorful dips. Both the mains,... More

The food in the Whale Restaurant is outstanding. The flavours are excellent and fresh veggies from the garden are wonderful.

Visited the Whale Restaurant for dinner after seeing a write up in the South Coast Good Food & Wine Guide. It was true to the word starting with delicious warm fresh bread with homemade herb butter to finishing with a choice of homemade ice-cream from local ingredients. We selected a scoop of the South Coast yoghurt & vanilla bean gelato... More

We thought we'd give the restaurant a try as the restaurant is part of the Whale Motel. The front office staff suggested we try the restaurant, we didn't have high expectations as they were obviously bias. The restaurant staff were friendly and not pretentious, which always impresses and their service was prompt. The composition of the menu was surprising for... More

Ate here on a Saturday night with our 3 children. Beautiful views over Narooma bay. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the children were well catered for with the kids' menus. Food was a little hit and miss: the flathead seemed rather well-done, while the lamb was delicious. Overall I'd be happy to return on our next visit; hope the... More

Beautiful restaurant. Great location. Lovely ambience. Tasty food. Every mouthful was lovely. They have a set menu available. $38 for 2 courses and wine. A real treat. Not your standard fare. Give it a try......
