Great burgers

Some tables outside with shade to sit down and enjoy your meal. Service was quick and runs by a ticketed number - which they call out when ready. Great prices, average variety - like a mini takeaway shop.

You can buy anything in Thompsons store. Hamburgers were delicious and the best value on the island. Friendly service.

Great little store to get whatever you need. They have two little cars for hire and were obliging and helpful. Laid back islanders.

This store has been the main general store on Lord Howe for a great many years and is located in Main Street along with the Post Office, Coffee Shop ( the best coffee on the Island) and two other stores. They have most of your general needs and stock a variety of products.

Thompsons General Store has one major advantage over the other two stores on Lord Howe in that it is situated in what could be described as the 'centre' of the village and had the most impressive street sign. Thompsons is only a few metres from the Post Office and Information Centre, but has a fairly tired and 'bitsy' interior layout.... More

You could buy pretty much everything needed here. Prices were fairly high but we expected that. Fresh bread every day . Milk was frozen.

The layout was dishevelled, the staff a bit "grumpy". The prices higher than the other 2 on the island. I did not mind paying high prices for items as I am aware that everything arrives only fortnightly by barge, but the shop is in the middle of "town" and felies on it's location.

If you go to Lord Howe, you will go to Thompson's at some stage because it is right in the middle of the CBD, unlike the only other food shops, Joy's, which is up a steep hill, and Top Shop, up an even longer and steeper hill. It sells all sorts of things such as groceries and camera cards and... More

We almost did not even go in to Thompsons as we thought it mainly a fast food place but very pleasantly surprised to find a small selection of groceries, beer and wine, lovely gift store and clothing.
