Nice Old Fashioned Family Place

Lunch is a tasty and reasonably fast treat here. While you can pair with their wide selection of beers, work may require you to abstain. The prices are reasonable and the sandwiches were nicely done. The interior is very traditional, well kept but not fashionable. The staff are mostly long timers... read more

My family recently visited the Austrian Village on three different occasions and we have not been impressed. The main draw of the restaurant is its German cuisine. They have an assortment of traditional meals; while they were average, they were not anything to write home about. And the prices are a bit on the expensive side. If you are not... More

Our family has been dining at Austrian Village on Huntingdon Pike for three decades. My late father, who was born in Bavaria, never tired of listening to the German music here on the weekend. Traditional Austrian dishes and good old-fashioned service make this little restaurant a must for anyone of Austrian (Austro-Hungarian) or German descent. A nice variety of beer,... More

My wife is from Cheltenham, PA, yet had never been here. While visiting her Mom, we decided to give the Austrian Village a try. Of course, we looked to Tripadvisor for a general "once over"on reviews first... I could repeat what the last several reviewers have said, but rather just let me endorse them as right! The atmosphere is a... More

I live in the area, and there are not a ton of options for local restaurants. This is one I've returned to on several occasions. There's nothing outstanding about the food, but it's good, and it's filling. The beer is good. The atmosphere is... odd.. but somehow it all works. Good for families.

Stopped by the other day for lunch. Both the goulash and snapper soup were delicious but could use a bit more spice. Hamburger was of above average quality cooked perfectly and served on a crisp kaiser roll. German potato salad made in house is excellent and available for take out. Nice selection of German beers. A nice change of pace!... More

Having moved away from the Philly area 10 years ago, we had not revisited this old favorite, until now. Nostalgia was in the air. The Austrian Village is little changed from the way we remembered. It's not fancy or chic, but honestly simple. It is as it should be. Atmosphere is neighborhood family friendly, with a well sized bar. There... More

I used to frequent this place for dinner. Living far and life getting in the way I stopped going. Until I started working in this area, I stopped in for lunch and it was as remembered. Good authentic food at a great.price. I was shocked at what a great value lunch was and I was in and out quickly. This... More

One of my bucket list trips is Octoberfest in Germany. So when my cousin took me to Austrian Village, it gave me a little taste of hopefully a trip down the road(yes-I know Austria and Germany are different countries!!). It was a great opportunity to try authentic Austrian food. I found it delicious. The nice thing about this place is... More
