First time there, very charming and cozy. Food very good, but that's where it ends. Don't go there hungry, portions are appetizer size. My husband and I ordered the scallops as an appetizer to split, we got 1 sea scallop each at a cost of $7.00, that's $14.00 for two scallops, really!!! My husband ordered the duck which was very good but not... More

Leilas is such a nice change from all the other places in the area and always delivers great food and a relaxing evening. I always enjoy trying dishes we do not usually do at home and Leilas does an exceptional job with the duck breast and their French dishes it has taken over our need to go downtown for fine... More

Leila's Bistro has been a dining destination in Jenkintown for almost three years now. The cozy 28 seat BYOB Bistro serves French inspired American fare. Their menu changes seasonally, which has lead to me dining here many times. The current standout dishes on their menu include the pan roasted scallops with sweet corn puree, corn salad and chorizo; the braised... More

Food here was very good, but portions are very very small. Had escargot and short ribs. Not a huge eater but still left hungry. BYOB. Very small space so tends to be a tad noisy.

This was our first visit. The Roasted Tomato Soup was excellent. We both ordered the duck breast, which was specified to be medium rare, but came out rather medium, and the reduction could have been thicker. However, the black risotto and all vegetables were all very good. Some might say the place is a little expensive for the suburbs, but... More

"Good things come in small packages", as the saying goes, and it certainly does apply here. The owner-chef's special attention is apparent in both the food and the ambiance. The "out of the shell" escargot were seasoned just right, as was the Corvina we ordered. Service was prompt, but not rushed, and you can b.y.o.b. We were fortunate enough to... More

I have family members who really love this place but it really didn't wow me at all. The "French onion soup" was particularly unloved by me. It was apparently pureed and that made the texture unappealing - perhaps because it was so unfamiliar. But I was disappointed. I also had an appetizer portion of the pasta with tiny langoustines and... More

I visited this place with a group of coworkers for a business dinner. I was quite impressed! I did not order the fish,Corvina, they had as a special but I smelled it and wow did it smell good. After my friend was done she gave me her leftovers and I will tell you I loved it and I do not... More

Perhaps we expected too much after hearing a number of positive reviews from friends. The ambiance is certainly a plus - small and cozy. I would go back if only for the French onion soup - far different than the typical. The entrees were nice, not exceptional, and the portions were small. The disappointing part was the check, as we... I have lived in Jenkintown for 23 years and waited a very long time for a restaurant like Leila's to come to town. We had followed Jose (chef-owner) and Jen (host owner) for several years to their previous restaurants in Northeast Philly, Richboro, and New Hope. We begged them to consider something close to Jenkintown for years. We were joyful... More
