We didn't have a meal here but stopped in for coffee and cake. The decor is great....takes you back to the old milk bar days. Coffee was good and the cake excellent. Would recommend you eat here.

Quaint little café with crinkle but chips, yummy food and bags of history. Like stepping back into another era well worth a stop over!

Stopped in here on our way home from Melbourne, we were tired on McDonalds, I was so nice to see an old style Art Deco cafe that hasn't changed, it still has the old booths inside, I had a chicken salad sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it with my Chocolate Milkshake in the oldstyle tin milkshake cups, if you are travelling... I was excited to visit the Niagara for the first time and I was let down by people who run the cafe, I loved the history and Art Decor but I'm afraid to say that the cafe needs to be sold to new owners with a new sense of passion and vigor to restore service and quality. There were so... More

Much like Prime Minister John Curtin in 1942, we stopped in here in need of food, and boy did we receive that. We had a delicious milk-bar style lunch and enjoyed reading up on the history of such an establishment. Fans of art deco neon signs will enjoy their art deco neon sign. I purchased a mug, it was $12,... More

For a cafe that lives on the business of tourists and travelers, not accepting EFTPOS and credit cards is a deteriment. The food was tasty, but the staff ranged from uncommunicative to surly.

No change since my last review in Nov 2013, still great and you will love it if you are after a nice old Milk Bar. Say hi to the fat old half blind orange cat often asleep on the hot tin roof out the back, he is very friendly and I generally do not have much time for cats.

Catering to the public since 1902, we chose the Niagara in historic Gundagai firstly because it reminded us of cafes of our childhood in the (19)40s and 50s. A visit to the washroom (Ladies') down a rickety iron outdoor staircase is part of the experience. The Ladies' room is ancient, but perfectly clean and colourfully tiled. We were there for... More

This place has so much potential but it needs to be taken in hand. Staff seemed pretty miserable, food was just average, but my daughter got food poisoning and was up half the night vomiting. Needless to say, we won't be back.
