This is why many people stop in Gundagai

Called into Gundagai on the trip back from Sydney to Melbourne. It is and Art Deco enthusiasts heaven as many of the town buildings are of that era including the Niagara Cafe. Thought we would stop in for a quick bite to eat and hit the road as soon as possible. My first mistake was not checking... read more

We went there for breakfast. The menu is limited due to a family sickness emergency but the food is lovely. Had some eggs and bacon and they were fantastic, the yolk cooked to perfection, crispy and tasty bacon over two thick bread slices. The memorabilia in the walls is amazing and the decoration is just a historic gem. It is... More

A quirky basic restaurant and café. Slow service to get food served. Quite tasty and enjoyable salad. Lots of standard takeaway fare. Minor historic interest.

We had breakfast here - it was a bit slow as they had an staff member off sick and the food was very basic but it was good quality, simple fare. The decor and ambience is worth seeing

We called in after seeing the cafe featured on the Channel 33 food network - thought it was worth checking out. We were not disappointed! We had hamburgers and steak sangers which were a nice feed.

Located in the Main Street and well worth a visit. Good home cooked food. Historical property transports you back to the 50's. Well worth a visit. Friendly staff. Great historical fitout- I don't think the decor would have changed for 70 years. Good memorabilia around the walls.

We decided to have morning tea at this fantastic old relic. Service was very slow but I put that down to my being from the city. The food was not so great though. Lots of fried chips, gravy and chicken. We had a toasted sandwich which was good. There was a carrot cake option but it looked like a slice... More

We ate here for lunch as a recommendation. What a great experience, took me way back to the fish n chip shops of my teens. The portion size was pretty typically country and quality was excellent. Great coffee, nice people what more could you want for a lunch stop over..

Great retro cafe and restaurant. Very good food and reasonable prices. Staff is OK but not really friendly.
