That 70's Cafe

Meals are basic and tasty and are reminiscent of a 70's style cafe. Cafe looks like it is trying to achieve a retro look with booths and fittings. Staff were stand offish but helpful offering both the sit down menu and take away menu. No complaints but they could do so much more if they were to... read more

If you have time, stop here for a coffee or a milkshake. The Art Deco facade & counter & the history displayed on the walls make it a wonderful place to visit. I can't comment on the food as we only had drinks - if it had been open when we left in the morning we would have had breakfast... More

We regularly make the drive from Albury to Wollongong to see family and stop at Gundagai for some food when we decided to try an in town cafe. When we stopped by the decor was dusty and looked all jumbled and uncared for. Stood waiting for what seemed like ages as we were unsure what we needed to do when... More

The Niagara Cafe at Gundagai dates back to 1902 and is one of the few remaining cafes that were originally opened by immigrant Greeks and is still run today by an Australian family of Greek heritage. There's a range of interesting fixtures and fittings from the 50s and 60s as well as memorabilia on the wall and in the front... More

What can I say!! This cafe is absolutely amazing with brilliant food and amazing service you couldn't get any better. I've been to many different cafe's in my life and this one is the best by far!!!!! People who have written all these terrible reviews are pathetic and have a nasty brain.. I highly recommend a visit to this cafe... More

I have happy memories of this café from family visits starting in the 1950s. It was a point of honour to time our trips to our home town further along so that we could eat at the Niagara. We breezed in with a new family member to be greeted by an expressionless person behind the counter. We looked at the... More

Looked old and grotty. Blackboard had items such as tinned spaghetti or baked beans on toast. Seriously! No one was in there which says a lot. Free parking outside but so does every shop in Gundagai.

Complete rubbish. Poor service. Poor food. Poor attitude. I asked for something gluten free because I'm ALLERGIC to gluten and got asked by a staff member serving us "why would you want to eat gluten free?" in a nasty and judgmental tone. I ordered a salad sandwich on gluten free bread. A predominantly lettuce sandwich on dry bread was served... More

Great old looking place with old style ambiance and food. Great history on the walls. Staff would rather be anywhere else then serving eager passerby travellers who dared to venture beyond the highway pit stops. If crowded don't venture in as minimal staff can't handle the pace. Serves no baby chinos though a gorgeous sleepy cat in the stairwell on... More

We made a quick stop in Gundagai and I was famished so I hurried over here to order a to-go sandwich. The place has a dingy, yet homey feel. The staff weren't very friendly and my sandwich was pretty much just burnt white bread. I'm sure there's other options in Gundagai and I wish I had looked for them.
