away from the Maddening Crowd

After a couple if days running around to various meetings near Byron Bay, I retreated to the Deck at the Byron at Byron resort. It was calm, quiet and civilised. Nice wine list to chose from.

Have loved every meal I have had here! Steaks are good, lamb is good too :) I love the atmosphere during the day. I prefer seating at the 'deck' and having a good view of the road and everyone passing by. Service can be a little long and you can sometimes feel forgotten if they are busy.

I haven't had a meal here in ages. Had dinner last night and mine was delicious. There were 5 of us and all enjoyed their meals. A delicious meal for a reasonable price. I would gladly recommend this restaurant.

We dined here as part of a coach trip. During the day, our coach hostess was continually trying to contact the club to confirm and place our pre-ordered meal orders, but was unable to get any response. After finishing the days touring, the coach driver and hostess had to actually go to the Golf Club in order to do this... More

We were staying nearby The Deck and wanted somewhere close to go for a Birthday Dinner. The website menu and marketing was attractive. When we arrived I was expecting a Restaurant but it was just a bistro. The items on the aniline menu were not available as the menu changes daily. We ordered a number of dishes. The pork belly... We come here regularly ( once a week) and never fail to have a great meal. Brenda the head chef has a great ability to blend tastes together . Matt is attentive as the frontman. They are very accommodating for individual tastes. The environment is beautiful, the wine is inexpensive - really, a hidden gem for Byron Bay.

Most people would think of a restaurant at a golf club is not the place to eat,how wrong would you be.The Deck has amazing views over one of Australias top golf courses. It is a locals hang out as the food is excellent, the drinks at club prices ,plenty of parking and it is out of the noise and craziness of Byron... Will NOT be returning here. We ended up leaving with happy stomachs but not feeling very welcome. The man working was blunt and rude to my partner and I. Feel very sorry for the waitresses. The food was yummy so that's a plus and the view was great.

In response to this i would like to offer my deepest apologies to the couple in question. As I was off sick on this evening it would appear that the man who was rude actually does not represent "the Deck at Byron" He is part of the managment of the golf club. To my disgust I became aware of this... More

Food was pricy but well worth it for a special night out. We shared the seafood for 2 which was around $80 and the pork fillet which was lovely. Only disappointment was that the restauarnt's fish of the day was farmed Barramundi which tasted a little muddy. A restaurant of this quality we thought would have wild barramundi on it's... More

This place is unknown amongst tourists as it is a bit out of town. The restaurant is called The Deck as It overlooks the Golf Course and at night the ponds below are lit up and a few trees along the course. It also overlooks towards the Lighthouse so you get to watch the light spin around at night. The... More
