Fantastic french

We happened upon the Petit Snail whilst holidaying in Byron with family after a recommendation. This place is authentic French and the food is lovely. The French owners are very friendly and add to authenticity of the place. Steak was tender and the goat cheese entree was delicious

This was our first experience visiting and after reading the positive reviews we were really looking forward to it. The owners are lovely and provide something special however the wait staff really lack experience training. The food was nice particularly the entrees we had the pate and scallops which were delicious, the remainder of the meal was nice without being... More

What a wonderful reception you get from Chaudry and her preparation of the steak tartare is a performance worthy of her previous profession as an actress. Husband, Igor, prepared a delicious dinner - snails of course as befits the restaurant name, confit de canard - roasted again and served with champignons and a caper-loaded potato salad. With dessert (creme brulee)... More

This is definitely the best food in Byron Bay. At first glance the restaurant looks like nothing special until you are greeted by Chauby the hostess who makes you feel very welcome. The menu includes local seafood( we had the local oysters and scallops both excellent) and steak. Excellent French wine and cheese. This is not your cliched, cynical rip... More

We loved it here...its run by a husband and wife team (French) and they really do go out of their way to ensure you have great time. Everything is deliciously French, from the Champagne to the snails... Really tasty food with some surprising dishes along the way. Go here - you won't be disappointed.

The staff here, especially the owners are amazing. So warm and welcoming they just make you feel special. We were here on Christmas Day and I'm so pleased I booked it. The reviews are justified, eating is not only about the food but the experience as well, both combined just made it fun, exciting and a really enjoyable Xmas eve,... More

The husband and wife team envelop you in a warm Gallic embrace that makes you love them all the more. Their food comes from their hearts and should be consumed with gusto. Don't come looking for a cheap snack. Do come to celebrate, relax, consume and leave sated and brimming with delight. Their reputation as one of the "must go"... More

Small portions at a hugely inflated price and clearly not worth it. Ordered the bouillabaisse which had very little fish in it, some empty muscle shells, 2 miniature prawns and lots of potato in the fish stock. So disappointing ! Other dishes very ordinary . Service average . Couldn't wait to get out of there .

When we visit Byron Bay we always come back. Service is always exceptional and the food always worth it. If your looking for something a little special it is worth pre-ordering the Pheasant (when you make a reservation).
