Some good some less so!

Went for lunch with a friend on Monday, quite a slow day so not many people lunching. The food was innovative with an interesting use of some unusual but very fresh ingredients. On the whole it was delicious but the portions are very small. The dessert, which we shared, was rather ordinary and... read more

Biota was on my place to go to and I wasn't left disappointed. The botanic cocktails are amazing and my tip is the smoked apples with rum! Snacks were lovely and the atmosphere was minimalistic yet stunning. A must!

We visited biota for my birthday celebration and had a fantastic time. We opted for the 5 course summer degustation, all of the courses were delicious - unusual combinations and ingredients but no so unusual that it compromised on flavour. I love biota's food philosophy and you could definitely taste freshness in their dishes. Service was excellent and setting was... More

I had been given a gift voucher for the stay and dine option by some friends for my 40th. I went with my partner, I liked a lot about this restaurant and the stay and dine option they offer. The setting and design of the restaurant is lovely, it is like a cross between an English cottage garden with millpond... More

A restaurant that does things in its own way. And does it brilliantly! There is no choice of meal; the chef simply provides a list of ingredients so that you can say if there is anything that you don't like. Each course is the chef's special creation and is a surprise; ingredients and creativity like I've never experienced before. Do... More

being a chef I do not like to criticise others but this time I must say it was not good at all very expensive not professional, pretentious, with a camera in the kitchen to show customers cooks pulling their pants up..ex...the service ,and the setting was OK. I would not go back there even invited

My husband and I got married here in 2013 so we decided to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in one of the Biota rooms and had a pre dinner drink at the bar, dinner in the restaurant and brunch the next morning. Before patrons dine here, they must understand that the concept and inspiration of James Viles is very unique... More

My wife and I visited Biota Dining and had the 5 course Degustation without Wine (I do not drink). Food: We went for an experience and certainly we achieved that. There were some innovative ideas presented in the menu and some of the dishes were exquisite. - I particularly recall the home-baked bread as becoming a new standard in excellence.... More

We are vegetarians and felt that the food was great yet larger portions please as we left hungry. The desserts were very inventive.
