For one this place is never opened at a decent hours. There closed Saturday night for goodness sake? Food is very average.

The sushi is 5 star- always amazing. The only negative is the hours - only open Tues-Fri (not on Saturday night?!) and they finish taking orders at 6:45pm.

I've been to rakku many times over the past few years and it has never failed to satisfy! I would definitely recommend to anyone passing through ballina. Their only downfall recently is that they close at 7pm. I believe this is due to personal reasons.

A great little Japanese Restuarant which serves fresh and delicious authentic Japanese Food. Sashimi was very fresh and well cut. Tempura vegetables, miso soup, chicken bento box, and tuna rolls were all very well prepared. Family friendly. Simple and unpretentious atmosphere with polite staff. Would definitely come back again.

Ate here on a Wednesday night. They don't take bookings but it wasn't too busy, although no wonder said boo to us at the counter so we just helped ourselves to a table. You then go up to the counter to pay and order. Three of us shared some sushi, gyoza and edamame which was pretty good. The gyoza was... More

Went there in July on the advice of the hotel staff... and ended up going there 3 nights in a row. Excellent food, friendly service.... and met ONJ there too.. except that she thought I was a member of the staff...

We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem while spending one night of a road trip in Ballina. The food was incredibly fresh and all handmade - nothing frozen or bottled here! The handmade gyoza and spring rolls were delicious, as was the agedashi tofu. The sashimi tuna was outstanding. All the sauces were obviously handmade with lovely subtle flavours.... More

We were looking for a place to get some dinner and didn't know where to go.We saw quite a few people going in and out of this restaurant so decided we would give it a go. We ordered a variety of dishes. All of the food is made fresh to order. The quality of fish was excellent and all the... More

The food is wonderfully Japanese. The decor is simple but clean, the service fast and friendly without bells and whistles. The menu is small but satisfying and inexpensive. BYO is ok, no booking required. Recommend to anyone wanting a quick inexpensive Japanese nosh!
