Perfect stop

On the way to San Francisco this is a perfect stop to do. Very nice people making your stop to a real memory of the past. But at same time exceptionell good coffee, even espresso, coffee latte and home made cookies as other bakery stuff. Please stop here not elsewhere. What a scenic place.

I heard about Hope Valley Cafe's pies from the locals. My hubby and I enjoyed the tasty fresh food served by the super friendly folks from Alpine Cafe in the neighboring town of Markleeville. After hiking in the mountains, we were hungry. Why not check out Hope Valley Cafe & Market for apple pie on the way back to Lake... More

I have driven by here endless times and always wanted to try the pies. Bought a whole pie to go yesterday (at a steep price but for a great pie I will pay $$$). It was an apple pie and unfortunately it was arguably the worst "home made" pie in my 60+ years. Thick soggy crust with no hint of... More

There are not many eateries in the Hope Valley area, and this is the one I'll go back to. Good food, reasonable prices (for the area), baking on premises. Limited menu but covered my needs. Check their hours before visit. Next time I'm going to try one of their home-baked pies.

My family and I visited this restaurant because we heard some other people talking about the great pie. They were right. We all had light sandwiches and pie with ice cream which I recommend to anyone passing by. If you like pie, detour and stop. There will be a number of choices each day.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to South Lake Tahoe and very glad we did. Great food at a decent price. Had one of the best cranberry turkey sandwiches in a long time. My wife loved the carrot Zakinthos soup. The host with the wild hair bun was wonderful and made our day.

They are in my opinion the best on the planet! The scones are a close second but get there early, they go fast. The atmosphere lends itself to the enjoyment of the food. Fun to sit outside (dogs allowed) and gaze at the mountains with your "goodies". The fresh baked pies are one of the "stars" which we look forward... More

We were camping at the RV Resort and were overwhelmed by the fantastic scents coming from the Cafe & Market- we bought a couple of ginormous peanut butter cookies for dessert and were completely wowed by the fantastic flavor...plus, eating a giant cookie by the fire at night in the mountains is always better :)

On our journey from Mammoth Lakes back home to Sonoma County we stopped into this little mountain oasis to grab a coffee and stretch our legs. Wow! Fresh baked pies, an espresso machine and a cool vibe. We downed a much needed espresso and cappuccino and nibbled on some Russian Wedding Cookies just like my Polish babica used to make.... More

There are very few places around, we stop for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Small menu with nice breakfast and lunch options. Good espresso coffee and very good pies. The kids insisted the place is worth the highest rating, I think this is due to the pancakes and service..
