My friends and I visited here for a birthday meal, the good was excellent I must say, although our waitress was not... Yet after a complaint to the 2 guys on the bar and a letter to management the outcome was swift and top notch! We were given an apology and the offer of a free meal for us all... More

We live locally and eat here at least 2-3 times a month. This is a St. Austell Ales pub, so the menu caters for all tastes. Unless I'm in the mood for steak I often have Lasagne or something off the specials board which changes regularly. If I fancy a steak then this place is my first choice. They are... More

This place is always packed out whether it be lunchtime or evening and you can see why. The food is, in my experience, always of a very good standard, the prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly and efficient. We were a party of 4 and we had starters of "blanchbait" (what's with this new term in the UK?... More

I visited the Holmbush Inn in June with friends, just as I expected I had an enjoyable time there. The food is of excellent value, you get good, decent portion sizes for your money. Although it was really busy, the waiting time for food was only about 20 minutes. I would recommend this pub to anyone. One of my favourite... More

We nipped in here for a drink and a meal. It's very much what you'd expect from a chain pub, pretty standard menu and decent prices. The service wasn't particularly friendly but was efficient. The food was good and made fresh (I assume, from the time taken to prepare). Good number of tables out the front in the sunshine, just... More

Called in for a cheap and cheerful plate of grub and a couple of pots of beer with friends after a game of golf. We were served (drum roll) 4 decent plates of grub and some excellent St Austell Brewery Tribute beer. Plates of Belly Pork, Ham with Egg and Chips and a small size Rump Steak were all sent... More

Typical pub restaurant. Lots of new, untrained staff and service . Go to feed not to enjoy a special mealmaintained by one excellent waitress when we were there. Portions rigidly controlled and somewhat frugal. Seems like lots of pre-cooked, kept warm staples which are dried up. Quite a popular place so need to book. Very noisy
