TRY WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR THE STEAK AND SEAFOOD

Our family live near this restaurant but have never been on a Wednesday evening - we were not disappointed. The meal was very good indeed and the dining room completely full - do book! Very good friendly service.

We read the reviews before our visit and agree with the majority, warm welcome and although the restaurant was busy, the food prompt and served by the hard working staff. We went for the local scallops to start, and the crab linguine for main, excellent good quality and plentiful. Would definitely return if in this area again.

We visited this bar restaurant today. We were greeted warmly, and taken promptly to our table. I had the sea bass with ratatouille and my hubby had a rib eye steak. Both were cooked to perfection. The desserts were excellent and portion sizes very good. The bill came to £55 for two courses each and drinks - the quality of... More

We ate here on recommendation of the B&B owner and were not disappointed. The food was good and the service was also good, although neither was exceptional. We started with olives and bread which came without olive oil and was just bread and a bowl of olives. The olives were in brine not olive oil and not as nice as... More

My husband and I visited the restaurant on our Golden Wedding Anniversary and it did not disappoint. As I had been ill recently with a viral cough my appetite had not fully returned, therefore I did not order a starter but my husband had the steamed St. Austell Bay mussels. As we visit our daughter in Edinburgh regularly where the... More

We love the kingswood. We have visited 4 times now and have not been disappointed. One of our favourites is the warm scotch egg starter. The portions are not huge but just enough to allow you to sample 3 courses. The car park can get busy and I would advise booking ahead as it is popular.

The location is great, with a very nice veranda that must look amazing on a sunny day. Dishes are brilliantly presented, mixing unusual flavours in a balanced way. The slow-cooked lamb is literally amazing and the chickpeas and butternut squash purée complete the dish at its best. Service wasn't great: we were asked to order drinks at the reception while...
