Good food

Nice service, good food and plenty of it. Ales were a little ropey I think because it's not so busy in January, but they were happy to change it. A little cold but there wasn't a lot of people in there so that's maybe why. But a lovely place and as said good food.

The fish was cooked perfectly and the flavours complemented each other. `this was not a namby pamby plate of food but it was well presented. Staff were... More

We visited for an evening meal in a party of four. The room was cold, but the waitress did set up a table nearer to a radiator on our request. The room was not very full, but it was quite early so maybe it assumed more atmosphere later in the evening. I chose a Thermidor and I am not sure... More

We visited Wreckers by chance having arrived at the 'top' of the village by connecting coach from Par on a day trip from Bristol with the Railway Touring company. Wreckers is opposite the inner harbour about half way down to the lock/tidal entrance - lovely situation in what is described as the Old Boatshed. We chose fish (entirely appropriate) and... More

Had a three course meal here, Food was good quality and desert was great but a bit too pricey. Room is looking a bit shabby with cobwebs around the lights. Would probably come here again as there is not much choice for anything else.

Visited today with a group of friends for the festive menu. Friendly greeting and a glass of Proseco on arrival. Olives and bread board and an excellent choice of three courses to follow. The food was beautifully presented with a good choice of vegetables. Have eaten here before and always impressed with the service and quality of food on offer,... More
