From the outside it looks undistinguished set in a small parade of shops. Once inside the attentive and friendly service takes over in a very simple interior design. We had a tasting memu as it was a Sunday. This was superb and it went down with a nice bottle of wine. Would be very happy to eat there regularly other... More

We were really looking forward to our meal after reading the reviews but it was really disappointing. The website said they us fresh locally sourced food yet in September the menu included; spring pea sauce & imported green beans. The menu stated the lambs was served pink, which is exactly how we wanted it but actually it was raw and... More

As mentioned don't be put off by its surroundings, once inside the floor is raised so the view is of the town of St Austell in the distance. Great food and friendly staff. Imaginative tasty dishes with delicious flavours. We went on Pot luck night (Sundays) but had 6 dishes to choose from. When we visit the area again we... More

Last week this was one of the finest dining experiences I had ever had. Tonight was the second. Yes, went back. Imaginative food combinations well presented. Service excellent. Relaxed, informal atmosphere. Portion sizes just right so one can enjoy a three course meal. Not the cheapest option but excellent value for money for this up and coming chef. Dont be... More

Went to Austells for a celebration meal for my fiancée's birthday. The food was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection and there was enough of it, unlike some of the other posh restaurants where you comeback feeling like you need to cook again when you get home. The service was also really good and attentive. I would definitely go again... More

As you approach Austell's you wonder if you are at the right place as it sits in what looks like a small shopping precinct. Don't be put off this restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, great food and service and very aware of gluten-free requirements.

Have the lamb rump! Best bit of lamb Ipmy husband and I have had in years! Great service, friendly staff and most importantly...fantastic food. If I was going to criticise anything I would say the tables/chairs need updating to meet the standard of the food. Minor detail though. Overall we will be going again on another occasion!

We ate here as a couple, in late August 2014, whilst on holiday in Charlestown. The experience was great and we are likely to return. The menu was varied and reasonably priced and the wine list catered for all budgets and tastes. The crab risotto starter was exceptionally good (£9 ish) and the portion size was generous. My husband had... More

Small restaurant that pays attention to detail. Food was delicious and very well prepared. Our waitress, Laurie, was just lovely. They prepared a special dessert dish for me as I have a nut allergy and it was scrumptious!
