We ate at the Driftwood last night as a group to celebrate our son's 21st. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly and very efficient without being stuffy or pretentious. The Sommelier in particular, is a smashing chap. We all agreed that the food was possibly the best that we've eaten in Cornwall,... More

We visited the Driftwood for our 7th Anniversary on 20th November. I had researched a lot of restaurants within Cornwall to find the perfect setting, and the Driftwood shone above the rest. We had seen Chris Eden on the Great British Menu so were keen to sample the food. On arrival we were given the choice of the bar area... More

We visited the restaurant by recommendation We were greeted in the usual way and were asked to sit down in a lounge where we were directed. the seat was immediately adjacent two people at their dining table!! Our pre-dinner wine (Chablis premier Cru) was served in Red wine goblets!!!!!! I asked for a single glass of wine mid meal which... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am delighted that you enjoyed the food so much , I'm sorry, however that the layout of the tables in our restaurant wasn’t to your liking. We position the tables for our guests to take advantage of the wonderful sea views. My apologies if there was a misunderstanding over... More

Couldn't find fault with anything ... Service personable ... Food outstanding on every count ... Even though it is not cheap, feel we got great value for our pound ... A great bottle of wine for a reasonable price ... They were busy even though it was October ... Back next year I think!

We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights and enjoyed the food immensely. It seems the policy is to keep the same menu for some time. I couldn't work out if it was for a month or a season. However we started the first night with one of two tasting menus and apart from finding one of the... More

We came here for my birthday as a treat and although the food was very good the atmosphere was a bit stuffy. We had to leave credit card details to secure a booking and were given a table that was in the walkway, so not very relaxing . It was busy and we felt that we had been squashed in,... More

The menu is not extensive but has plenty to satisfy and was interesting and top quality. I was with two friends and we all had fish (having just walked back from a walk along the cliff which is directly accessible from the hotel's nicely kept garden). The restaurant does not have a lot of natural ambience but is light and... More

Booked this because of the superb reviews. Staying in North Cornwall so took taxi there and back. It was well worth it. The tasting menu was exquisite. All the dishes were excellent but my two favourites were the John Dory and the Saffron Tart. Pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff and beautiful dining room made this a very special evening. We often... More

The restaurant, service and atmosphere are all conducive to a good evening before you even begin to taste the food. The food though, is perfect! beautifully presented, great combinations of amazing flavours, Both the tasting menus and the a la carte offer a great choice.

Discovered this place just before coming on holiday so booked in advance, so pleased we did. From start to finish the staff cannot do enough for you. From the produce for the cocktail right through the whole meal, where possible is all local - first class. We had the tasting menu, one with accompanying wines (alas, as I was driving... More
