We have been to The Dining Room several times and are always extremely impressed with the exceptional food and service. It is one of the best restaurants we have been to and up there with the top in Cornwall. A must visit for anyone coming to the area. Superbly cooked and presented food in our view it is more than... We last ate at this restaurant when it was called The Black Pig with Nathan Outlaw as Chef. Chef Fred at the Dining Room has the same ability to progress to great things He should be Michelin starred. His food is outstanding- with 4 or 5 choices for each course The attention to quality ,presentation and skill was very evident... More

A simply lovely meal. Great tasting food with stunning presentation of dishes and wonderful service delivered in an elegant setting. Don't worry about the lack of Michelin stars - this establishment has the quality to achieve them if it so desired...and offers stiff competition to most Michelin starred restaurants we have eaten in. The salmon starter was perhaps the best... More

Getting a table at the Dining Room can be tricky as it’s usually booked up well in advance – and for good reason. This small, immaculately presented restaurant promises, and delivers everything you could wish for. The chef produces a small but varied menu of seasonal, imaginative food that would grace any Michelin star establishment. Textures and flavours are wonderful... More

Delightful hosts, excellent menu, must be a good chef, useful wine list and roomy tables. Price matches the standard.

A wonderful dining experience. Mixes friendliness with just enough formality to make the evening special. The meal is a procession of a delicious taste. The bread is divine, Fred's in house baked bread, then a surprise canapé, and an amuse bouche, followed by your choice of starters, mains and dessert with or without and intercalated cheese board (highly recommend). If... More

As soon as we sat down ready, we as a party of 4 knew we were in for a special meal. After ordering our meals we were surprised by having delicious appetisers that set the standard for the night. The service was first class, very friendly, the pace of the evening was just right. Allowing just the right amount of... More
