The Green Parrot was taken over and refurbished by Wetherspoons a few years back and was in its first year the usual new opening in town with its usual start up problems, with regards to quality, customer service and consistency. WOW how can a company that has a standard product with a scripted training manual akin to paint by numbers... More

We went to the Green Parrot yesterday evening specifically for the advertised "CIDER FESTIVAL". We asked the lady behind the bar were the cider was and she pointed to the coolers with a total of four ciders between them, down to three a short while later as one had run out. Now I always thought a festival was a celebration... More

Went to the Green Parrot on the chicken and a drink night. We ordered 2 chicken n chips. You wouldnt think there could be a problem but my chicken was warm on top and freezing underneath! I complained and sent it back. There was hardly an apology (although I could have got food poisoning). It was as if they took... More

We visited on the same night as other recent reviewers and experienced the "no steaks" on the steak night. However, we very VERY lucky indeed that we got the very last 14oz steaks and they were delicious. As said by others - that night was very busy indeed and some of the female staff coped magnificently with quite a few... More

As a local I have been visiting the Green Parrot for food for many years, long before it became part of the Wetherspoons empire. The previous comment is quite correct about last night - There was no steak. Yes we saw people eating steak as well, but there you are! However, that is not my grief. I was happy to... More

I have visited this place for a few years but it has never let me down before. Tuesday club, steak night, what steak? Arrived at 7pm to be told that there was no steak left!? They are supposed to serve for until 11pm and there was no steak left at 7pm! Apparently no other meats left either!???? Lorry broke down... More

Its nicely tucked away with a large pay and display car park to it's front. Plenty of seating inside as well as out, some covered. Dogs have to stay outside. Only problem we had was that on the 2 occasions we went to eat there, the 1st time there was an hour wait for food, the 2nd they had ran... More
