A Proper pub!

This is what a proper pub looks like-locals in for early hours, warm welcome, real fire, not obviously a foodie pub but had a super meal: great fish pie and amazing sticky toffee pudding. Wonderful ambience. Perfect!

We made it a point to have the fish & chips here and were treated to an enormous slab of cod that was (kind of unsurprisingly, given the whole fishing village thing) really delicious. But what surprised us was how good everything else was. It's not often where you eat a salad and think, "Wow, these red onions are really... More

Lovely old bar with a real fire and delicious food. The majority of people were eating in the Smugglers bar which was not as nice with arcade machines and low lighting - bag a table in the main bar by the fire. Food was fresh and tasty, great fish and chips and nice mussels with ginger.

The title says it all. Food was good and reasonably priced. Landlady and staff lovely and our furry friend loved it. Especially her meeting with the pubs cat.

Lovely friendly pub. Welcomes dogs. Great Sunday lunch, just like his nan used to make according to my husband. Sticky toffee pud v v good. Beer also good (again husband recommends). Well worth a visit. Nice fire and flagstone floor.

I live local and can highly recommend this traditional pub. If your visiting Mevagissey don't just head for harbour, have a look down the back streets. The staff and the homemade food are fantastic. Don't miss out on visiting a place steeped in history!

Nice place to spend New Years Day. Good choice of food and tasty. Loads of room. Cold trip to the loo! Love a dog friendly pub!

My wife and I were touring the Roseland peninsula and we stumbled across this place when visiting the pretty little fishing port of Mevagissey. Although it was lunchtime we eschewed the chance to sample the food although very good it looked and smelled, preferring just to take a small cider and small HSD ale from St Austell Brewery. This brewer... More

Went there in the begining of january as staying at a local caravan park. Nice warm fire and the staff really friendly. Ordered food which was really good and has a good selection of local ales. Look forward to go back soon.
