Good food & drink.

The pub food was great so was the atmosphere in the pub. One to try for sure. Also they do a great fish & chips to take away.

Lovely quaint old fashioned pub where you are made to feel very welcome. Food is of excellent quality and good value for money. portion sizes are good. Bar was full which is always a good sign.

The crackle/warmth of the open fire was really welcoming after a chilly walk. This bar was always full of friendly locals. The staff were all very friendly. We did eat here one night of our stay and was not disappointed. The food was traditional pub grub. My husband had fish and chips and I had fish pie. Both came out... More

We had driven down from Yorkshire and were tired and looking for a dog friendly lunch stop before we made our way to our accommodation just 5 miles away. We found the Fountain and saw the welcome board inviting dogs. We were just on the last push for lunch but had a good welcome and we had a great lunch... More

We are here this week and had a great evening. Typical old world local pub with a great atmosphere. Staff were lovely and really friendly. Food was really nice and served with a smile.

Called in for lunch - lovely pub - very atmospheric but watch your head on those low ceilings! Plenty of locals in which is nice to see in a lovely village over populated with tourists sometimes. We went for the fish and chips and foolishly i opted for a large portion! The fish was beautiful and the batter was out... More

We popped into this lovely pub for a beer and discovered a lovely open fire, jolly locals and a fab menu. We found a table and studied the menu and my eyes were immediately drawn to a fish stew with mussels, calamari, white fish and langoustines in a tomato and garilc sauce with a chunk of fresh bread, I'm in... This is what a proper pub looks like-locals in for early hours, warm welcome, real fire, not obviously a foodie pub but had a super meal: great fish pie and amazing sticky toffee pudding. Wonderful ambience. Perfect!
