Great place to hang out on a rainy day

Since our visit to Mevagissey was in November, a lot of places were already closed for the season, but the Wheel House was one of our available options. Stopped off here as our usual Mevagissey haunt was closed. We were not, in general, disappointed. A lovely well laid out restaurant with just enough quirky bits to stimulate conversation while we waited to order. My other half, who is easily pleased opted for the fish chips and mushy peas special and was very happy that he was offered bread... More

2 of us waited an hour for a terrible meal a fish grill badly over cooked and my fish and chips very oily and stale bread accompanying. If we had been told there was a problem we would have made alternative choices .Temperature for sitting in the restaurant too cold for elderly. As a local certainly would not recommend.

Dropped in for lunch today and really enjoyed the Fish pie - first go was a little chilly in the middle but extremely tasty - once warmed through it was fantastic. Great friendly service and as good as the breakfast we had there a few months back.

A delightful place to stay, with a super view over the harbour, very nice staff and somewhere I would go time and time again. Food in the restaurant is good, and the breakfast a good way to start the day.

Stopped by for a fry-up on a sunny saturday morning and was rewarded with a nice ( but not exceptional ) breakfast, speedily and pleasantly served right on the pretty quay at Mevagissey. Would recommend.

We stopped here for lunch, the batman was very helpful showing us to a quieter area as we had our dog with us. Water and a dog biscuit brought before our order taken! Both of us had crab and jacket potato. The crab was served separately so you could really taste how fresh it was. Butter and Mayo also in... More

After weighing up a few lunch options plumped for fish and chips at the wheel house. Nice traditional pub/restaurant feel and the food was absolutely delicious. Tasty fish, crunchy chips and (considering it was fish n chips) not greasy! We also visited with a baby, and massive thanks to the waitres who offered to walk the pram about so we... More

We stopped here for lunch on a busy Saturday, the waitress was friendly and found us a table. The food is homely with large portions, we had cod mornay from their specials menu and it was piping hot and tasty. It seemed very much a locals place and offered good value for money food. If you want some local fishermans... More
