We had the crab mornay which was lovely. The fresh salad with it was very good and the pea shoots were a lovely change from a bit of cress! We really enjoyed it but the place lacked any atmosphere and we weren't made to feel welcome at all by the person serving. In fact when I paid she was complaining... More

We had a nice meal at the Blue Bistro, lots of fish dishes on the specials board, friendly staff my husbands beef casserole was excellent but my crab mornay was a bit watery with not enough cheese topping, although there was plenty of crab.

Went here for a cooked breakfast treat, but wish we hadn't bothered. There was no welcome from the staff and good was banged down into the table. The staff could be heard moaning about stuff from the kitchen and then they proceeded to defrost the freezer. Scrapping ice out so loud you couldn't speak to the person opposite. Not the... More

Enjoyed a day out in Mevagissey this week and had a fabulous 3 course home cooked meal at this lovely ( but quite small ) restaurant. If ever we venture back to this part of Cornwall we would definately eat there again. Absolutely delicious.

For our last night in Mevagissey I tried to reserve a table at Salamander but the restaurant was fully booked. While walking through town during my last day, I stepped into Blue because it looked like a nice little place--good for a couple having their last night's meal. There was one woman serving and she was nice and pretty low... More

Blue is described as Mevagissey's hidden gem & from the menu it certainly looks like that's the case. We just popped in for a cream tea which was £4.75 however you did get 2 scones, enough for 2 cups of tea & generous portions of strawberry jam & cream. The scones weren't very big however they were delicious & very... More

We had been to the Lost Gardens of Haligan and were looking for some decent food that didn't involve chips, batter and deep frying. We spotted "Blue", liked the look of it, and were nicely rewarded. While the starter scallops were a little over-cooked, the main courses were great - a delicious and generous fish stew with a lot of... More

We popped in for a cuppa and were not disappointed. Fascinating interior with all sorts of bits and bobs to take your attention and lovely music playing quietly in the background. Why rave about a cup of tea - because so often you are presented with washy washy tasteless tea. Blue serve proper tea with strength and a good taste,... More

Having seen this place many times on my many visits to meva I was showing friends round and decided to treat them to a cream tea, nothing too extravagant so can't go wrong you would think. On entering the smell was a bit odd but put up with that, the woman serving was wearing dirty bad fitting clothes and couldn't... More
