Location and service great, food very average

Had the 'special' prawn and cod. The prawns were the type you get from a supermarket for just putting in a prawn salad and cocktail, which was a bit disappointing. The meal was overall fairly bland and reminded me of the kinds of dishes I've knocked up myself, when trying a new dish for the first... read more

Restaurant was very well laid out and pleasant but the food was very disappointing. We had a starter which was pleasant and tasty but when it came to the main course this was the problem. My husband had the fish platter which was all deep fried and greasy. I had the fish grill which was very disappointing. The fish was... More

We had upstairs all to ourselves and the views were exceptional. The service was efficient but not friendly. My partner enjoyed his fish pie but my fish cakes were bland and the chips were anaemic. The most costly place for a large chardonnay, even more expensive than the hotel we stayed in.

We stopped here for a cream whilst wandering about Mevagissey. The scones were amazing - the biggest I have ever seen and they were very tasty and fresh. We also ordered a portion of calamari and chips which were also delicious.

Middling restaurant prices for what was horrible pub food. We had the cooked seafood platter and it was horrible. Everything seemed to leak a mixture of water and grease when you cut into it. Very disappointing as a great location.

Checked out menu online and had decided before arriving what I would have. Actual menu not the same. So no sea bass and scallops for me. Ordered cod and prawns with garlic crushed potatoes.....what arrived on my plate can only be described as tasteless white fish and baby shrimps with squashed ungarlicky potatoes and tasteless veg. All which I can... More

We enjoyed a traditional Cornish cream tea at the Wheelhouse. The service was very good. The decor is particularly in keeping with the Harbour and has a cosy atmosphere.

Often visit here and, as usual, the staff lovely and service efficient. Starter and desert were excellent. Sea Bass vert fresh and tasty. Unfortunately the batter on Seafood medley rather thick and greasy and disappointed my visitor., although the fish was lovely - batter too heavy. Rather disappointed that the menu on the website bears no relationship to the menu... More

After a long bus ride to Meva, and a quick stroll around part of the harbour, I decided to stop for lunch. I decided on here, as it was close to the harbour, has a nice view, and was quite. I went for the burger and chips with a pot of tea to warm me up. The food was yummy,... More

We stepped into this cosy and charming place for coffee and cakes with our girls. Staff very friendly and helpful and service was prompt. Scones and cakes were lovely, a great little place with a fabulous view.
