This is a great old place with lots of character and has a lovely view of the harbour. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. I ordered fish cakes with vegetables. The fish cakes were tasty but the veg was poor. A few slices of courgette, chewy broccoli and some carrots made julienne style. All lukewarm and not much flavour. My... More

What a lovely place, great view of the bay, friendly staff, lively atmosphere and gorgeous food. The daily special 'trio of grilled fish' was delicious as was the beer battered cod and chips - thank you :)

Looked quite busy so we gave it a go. The three of us ordered jacket potatoes and they all came out, after about half an hour, cold. I had a cold potato, 3 slices of cheese and a bit of salad - all for about £8! We trudged out of the place a little disappointed.

Stopped by for a quick sandwich - but who could resist a Fresh Fish Pie - simple but can still taste it now. The Blonde had Fish Cakes and both were priced at £8.95 - great value for the quantity and quality of fish used. On recommendation we both sank a pint of Betty Scroggs to wash lunch down £3.50... Seeing as most of the restaurants in Mevagissey on Trip Advisor were only operating some evenings or weekends we ate in the Wheelhouse and were very happy indeed. Snug, pleasant staff with very fresh fish which no other place seemed to be offering, beautifully cooked. Lovely view of the harbour from our table. Shared a dessert.

After a very rainy day, we needed to find somewhere to hide for a while, we found this cute little bar/restaurant which looked reasonable and we only wanted something small. However after seeing they did fish pie and it was extremely reasonable I couldn't refuse it. The veg was cooked to perfection which ALOT of establishments don't know how to... More

First found the Wheelhouse in 2013 almost by accident when our usual restaurant was full. Pleased to say that, the standard of food served is very high and the service is also very good. It was very busy when we called in this year ,but still didn't wait too long for the meal to be served. I would recommend people... More

Staying in St Austell decided to go to Mevagissey for our evening meal and it was well worth the short drive. The food was excellent, the staff attentive and although early in the evening , the restaurant was filling up fast, a sure sign of its popularity. We would reccomend it to anyone

I had been waiting for a meal that ticked all the boxes. Finally found it. Delicious port, vegetables just to my liking and plenty of them. My husband had fish and said it was the best he had eaten in England. It was well price, cute and the service was great. 10 out of 10.
