Went for an evening meSl just before Christmas. Staff made a great effort, really looked after us. Starter and mains were really tasty, good portion size and very good value for money. Beer also v good. Log fires, happy atmosphere.... Will be back when next in the area. Thank you!

A really welcoming place with a couple of staff saying hello in the first minute of our arrival. We both have some allergies but staff and kitchen were very helpfull. Food was tasty with good portions. Service effective and friendly. The atmosphere was great, will be going again and can recommend for just a drink or for some good food.

We have just been back for lunch with friends while spending a long weekend in Cornwall. As the previous times the food and service were excellent. We will keep coming as the food and wines are good value for money. Highly enjoyable!

My niece who lives near by suggested this venue for Sunday lunch recently. We were very impressed. We were a party of eight plus small child and two dogs. We were all made very welcome. Only one of us had a starter which they said was excellent. We all ate from the carvery which was excellent. Not as much choice... More

While most places in the area were closed we found this traditional character pub open with a warm fire and warm welcome from the management and staff. We had an excellent meal and cornish ales on a cold night and will look forward to returning soon. Great value for money and the best pub meal we have had for a... More

A really great place - a traditional and proper pub with great food at a very reasonable price and close to Newquay and Padstow! As an added advantage free and fast Wi-Fi. I enjoyed an excellent lunch (beef stew with new potatoes and carrots) for a tenner and a good bottle of wine that was not overpriced. The service was... More

A really lovely evening at the quiz night last night. Food is well presented, generous and unpretentious. Food, service and atmosphere all excellent. You are one of my favourite pubs in Cornwall!

Very warm and comfortable experience. Superb service and food was very good (lunch). Lovely log fire and lots of cushions to snuggle up. We will definitely be visiting again!

We have visited the Travellers' Rest on a number of occasions when we are in Padstow and we meet up with friends who live in Cubert. The young couple who manage this pub are first class. Warm and inviting, great St Austell beers and exceptional food at very reasonable prices. Cod and chips, lamb stew, chicken skewers and vegetarian pie... More
