I have been passing this place a lot recently and am very keen to have a try, but has it closed or is it being refurbished?

Not a bad pub but it needs some TLC. The outside looks idyllic. The inside is a reasonable and authentic layout but suffered when we came in from being very run down and in need of a heavy duty clean and some fresh paint. Nothing florid or silly but a clean make over. Add in the slightly murky sheen on... More

We called here as the place looks good and inviting FROM THE OUTSIDE ! and we planned to stay for lunch. The place would benefit from a thorough cleaning inside. We had to wait ages to get served although the place was almost empty. When we did eventually get served the drinks arrived in dirty glasses. Decided not to sample... More

Recently camped for the night before going off on the ferry from Plymouth. Couldn't have been made more welcome. Very biker friendly, cracking field to camp in, toilets, showers and breakfast in the morning (huge) what more could you want. Lovely proper pub food, huge portions, I could only just squeeze all mine in

Called in for a simple weekend lunch this week. Disappointing feel. Mixtures of smells. Not unpleasant but a bit as though it needed a deep clean or handy been vented after a busy night. Bar and seating areas a bit bedraggled and untidy. Service at the bar a bit slow as if one man was doing everything. Just lacked a... More

Been to this pub a few times now and every time the food and service had been fantastic. The landlord is very friendly and helpful too. Try nobby's chilli!

I came here on New Years Day. The staff were very helpful at providing me with something i could enjoy being gluten free. They have different chips they make for people with gluten intolerances etc. I enjoyed the food very much the meat was of a high standard and very large portions for reasonable prices. The inside is looking a... More

Almost perfect exterior. Inside needs some work. Not sure the beer turnover is enough to provide optimum condition. But we like this pub and try to stop here if we have time if we are on the Liskeard/Callington Road. If you manage your expectations and if you are in a self entertaining group then you can have a very good... More
