A warm and welcoming real village pub

Our local and a very warm and welcoming place, with a log fire, exposed beams, a bit of history and the ethos of that fast-disappearing breed - the real village pub. Good beer, very good food; if you are in the area this is the local you will wish you had at home.

We live quite close to Crows Nest and we like to eat out regularly. Unfortunately, The Crows Nest is just too expensive, although the food is good and it is a nice old fashioned village pub. The Caradon Inn at Upton Cross serves very nice food and has a wider range of prices, so we tend to go there more... More

This is a great traditional country pub and well worth visiting even on a Sunday Lunchtime. The food is above average for a pub and I doubt whether anyone will come away disappointed. Great atmosphere and the portions are big. Just be aware of the size of the platter.

Lovely little pub, good beer, good food, good welcoming.: nothing more to add other than I wish it were my local.

Excellent pub. Great atmosphere, cosy fire. Dog friendly. Good food. Ask for the report taken in 2014 for things that go bump in the night! (ghostbusters, eat your heart out)

We have had some issues with this pub before, closed during busy bank holidays etc, but all this aside the meal we had was brilliant - Its good to get a good pub meal in cornwall, as a resident there is not much to chose from. Most of the pubs are terrible and I have written this in my reviews.... More

What a great little place. Excellent food, good cozy atmosphere and decent service. A wide choice of very tasty food on offer - all prepared fresh and presented as well as any up-scale restaurant. Really nicely, authentic decor in the place adds to the overall experience. Only one gripe would be that the chair I sat in was a little... More

If you want to know how to run a successful pub / restaurant in a tiny isolated village, in the middle of a prolonged season of pub closures, then pay the Crows Nest Inn a visit. The atmosphere hits you in the face like a shovel. The interior would have made a better location for the recent BBC production of... More

Other reviewers commented that they didn't have room for pudding so I was a bit wary about ordering the pie and mash. However, having left some for my partner to finish I did manage a portion of delicious sticky toffee pudding...just! Nice pub and pleasant welcome.

We visited on a quiet Monday evening, the pub was reasonably quiet but still very welcoming. The bar is quaint and traditional with a roaring open fire, which Was a welcome sight on such a cold night! The young lady behind the bar doubled as our waitress and achieved both jobs very well!! She was friendly, attentive and chatty. The... More
