First time- impressed.

Even though I live locally, I had never visited the pub before last night. We had a three course dinner and it was nice, the only thing I could fault was the chips tasted a little like oven chips. Also, the menu could do with a little altering or changing for the summer season. Waitress was... read more

Went to the pub a couple of weeks ago. Food is good, beer is very good and the look and feel reminds me of pubs on Exmoor e.g. Really nice and traditional.

Went for a meal last night (Good Friday) on recommendation, luckily we'd booked earlier in the day as they were fully booked up when we arrived. Lovely traditional old country pub with a cosy atmosphere. We had the Duck Breast and a Burger followed by cheesecake which were incredibly tasty, other meals going to other tables looked equally as good... More

On entry the fire and cosy bar were very welcoming. \the food was superb and served by a lovely waitress who was very efficient without being intrusive excellent! The home;made burgers definitely a treat. and the duck delicious. I had the Gunard which again I would recommend for fish lovers . This is... More

We live quite close to Crows Nest and we like to eat out regularly. Unfortunately, The Crows Nest is just too expensive, although the food is good and it is a nice old fashioned village pub. The Caradon Inn at Upton Cross serves very nice food and has a wider range of prices, so we tend to go there more... More

Our local and a very warm and welcoming place, with a log fire, exposed beams, a bit of history and the ethos of that fast-disappearing breed - the real village pub. Good beer, very good food; if you are in the area this is the local you will wish you had at home.

This is a great traditional country pub and well worth visiting even on a Sunday Lunchtime. The food is above average for a pub and I doubt whether anyone will come away disappointed. Great atmosphere and the portions are big. Just be aware of the size of the platter.

Lovely little pub, good beer, good food, good welcoming.: nothing more to add other than I wish it were my local.
