We came here for lunch mid week, on a beautiful sunny spring day, and having not visited the area for many years, were delighted to see the changes made were all really positive ones- friendly welcome, light bright atmosphere and a lot of skilled touches with poetry about the sea combined with needlework pictures to make unique and lovely decorations-... Ate here on holiday in Cornwall on a very sunny day and it's superb, mainly for the location. The food is good enough and the local ales are great, but just sitting outside next to the river is the winner for me. Loved it!

Lovely little pub in helford. Decorated beautifully to match the amazing views. Perfect for an afternoon drink looking across the helford river.

My friends and I chose the Shipwrights as our venue for a rare catch up. We were the only diners in the pub on a beautifully clear night, and we enjoyed the star lit walk from the public car park to the pub (ten mins). The decor was lovely - I didn't notice until it was pointed out to me... More

Ate here three times during a weekend visit. Very attentive and friendly service, fabulous food and far more than we could eat. Like limited menu, four or five dishes for each course, all freshly cooked. Excellent value with entertainment to boot ! Treacle tart with home made custard - simply to die for. Can't wait to come back.

Helford is Knightsbridge on Sea - but is a real jewel of a place. Out of season it is excellent - with Jazz on Sundays, imaginative food and wine, excellent beer, superb views etc. In season it gets a bit crowded but is still well worth a trip. Great walks all around. Only downside is the pub is overly themed... More

I have just spent a really great Sunday afternoon with my family at The Shipwrights in Helford. Great food at a good price, relaxed and friendly service and a really pleasant duet playing all afternoon. Weather foul in Cornwall at present, so there is no better way to spend a winter Sunday than with the good food, great beer, stunning... More

During our 1 week stay in West Cornwall this year my family ate out on 5 occasions. 4 of those occasions were a credit to Cornwall. However our last meal at the Shipwright Arms has let Cornwall down. The pub is pleasant to look at outside. However I would be very surprised if the interior designer was still in business!... More

Exactly the food you want for a relaxed meal in my favourite place in the world. Absolutely love the improvements in every respect.....decor, brightness, food, staff and ambience. The location is priceless in every way.

My wife and I were back down in Cornwall and I'd always wanted to take her for a meal here (I remember walking past here 30+ years ago when I was at school in Redruth and the smell of steaks on a summer evening stuck in my mind!). Sadly I was driving so had to have only one pint of... More
