Amazing Food, Good Service

I knew of this place from having visited on a family holiday years ago so I was keen to see if it was how I remembered it. After following our sat-nav to Helston we parked up from the pub and walked down alongside the river to be met with the little thatched building exactly as I remembered. We... read more

We only visited for a pint in the early afternoon but I wish we could have stayed longer. The service was wonderful, everyone very helpful and willing. The location was perfect on the coast with the most magnificent views anywhere you sit. In the summer I imagine it would be lovely to sit outside on the beach side. Although we... More

Popped in for lunch after walking Frenchman's Creek and so glad we did. I had the best scampI ever. Proper monkfish tails with lovely salad. I declined the chips but I bet they would have been lovely too. Husband had herb crusted cod which he said was "divine", followed by almond and lemon roulade which was really good. At £10... More

A wonderful local pub in a fantastic location. Members of our family have been here both in high Summer and in the depths of Winter, and though the experience each time is completely different, The Shipwrights offers a perfect English pub experience, with delicious food delivered from the kitchen as well as some great jazz from the local band. Definitely... More

We stopped here on a walk for lunch. The food was great, service good. Unique pub with a character all of its own. About a far from being a plastic pub as you could get.

We stopped in on a Sunday lunch time and were transported into a magical world of colour, gorgeous views, quirky art, a jazz band and both indoor and outdoor space. We all had the chowder which is probably the best I have ever tasted. We loved it so much we will come back to stay in the village next year.

We visited Helford for a long weekend stay in the village. Being close we decided to try The Shipwrights for our first meal and never tried anywhere else it was so good. Apart from the views, good beer and food being served all day - which allows you to while away many an hour with warmth and friendly company -... More

We read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor this morning, and thought the Shipwrights sounded like a good place to celebrate an anniversary. On arrival, we were not greeted by either of the staff behind the bar, but eventually got served with drinks and ordered our lunch. One crab sandwich, one brownie with cream. We sat in an empty... Would highly recommend going for drinks and overlooking the harbour as it is beautiful. The meal was ok - we ordered two meals. Fish and chips were lovely, but the steak dish was sent back 2 times! Don't drive down to the pub as it is very hard to turn around - park in the car park on the opposite... More
