I don't often have pasties - but when i do it HAS to be a philp's! I have been a customer of Philp's for many many years, and have yet to find another pasty maker that can rival a favorite of mine, and of my own parents and friends! In my opinion, they do the best pasties - the flavor,... More

Picked up two Cheese and veg: pasties for lunch today,it has been quite a while since our last visit and have to say it was pretty poor fare. The pastry was like cardboard while the filling almost 'slurry' like quality, little taste and tough eating. You can do better philp's or perhaps you no longer care.

These are the best pasties bar none the steak pasty is the top one for me the juices from the meat and the moistness of the veg are sublime plus a nice peppery taste I've been eating these since I was a child and they have stayed with the same excellent recipe.

The Cornish state that can always tell who has made the pasties and will react accordingly. They nearly always then add 'Mothers are the best'.! would never dream of being critical on the various comparisons, bakers and options available. Suffice to say that I always buy the traditional steak and find that Phipps pasties are consistant and good value.

I stumbled on Philps Bakery in Marazion last month. All I can say is wow! The best Cornish pasty I have ever eaten. Absolutely loads of filling with lots of steak and gravy. The pastry and crust was perfect, not too thick and very short. I never usually eat all of a pasty, throwing the crust away. This time there... More

Huge, huge, huge! Bit too much for me but judging by the queue out the door a very popular pasty. I usually have a real thing about too much salt but this wasn't too salty (contrary to other reviewers comments). There wasn't a lot of steak in the pasty and what there was, was all in a clump. The pastry... More

I have visited Philps pasty shop in Hayle time and time again. These are the best pasties in Cornwall. I have done a lot of research on this.

As a Cornishman who now lives in the North East and where their pasties looks nothing like or taste like the real thing, I always bring my friends back a real Pastie from Philps, they cannot belive the taste of this humble offering and are always asking when am I heading back down to see my family. This time I... More
