We had a light lunch here, sitting outside in the sheltered front garden in the sun and it was delightful. Even the passing traffic and the sight of the building site that is Asda didn't dampen our enjoyment. The ambience is quirky and home-spun, but the service and food was professional and delicious. I had the vegetable burger with roasted... More

We visited twice during our stay and loved the food both times! The first time we had lunch and although they didn't have everything listed on the menu, I was still more than happy with my food. I had a vegan waldorf salad on jacket potato and my partner had a vegan burger with potato wedges. Both of us loved... More

I visited the cafe today and couldn't wait to sit down and write a few good words on here. This was one of the freshest tastiest lunches I have had in a long tIme. The lady serving was so personable helpful and friendly and I cannot wait to call in again next time I am in Cornwall. It was a... More

My daughter has moved to the area and I have been checking out local cafés and restaurants for her, not a bad job on the whole, at this time of year! I had read some of the reviews for Johnny's and was a bit put off. But, as I was passing on one of my walks and as usual was... More

My favourite lunchtime treat with cappuccino. I'd not come across them before, served with dark berries and juice. I like the relaxed friendly service and the deconstructed decor with eclectic mix of old furniture. There is an interesting mix of other goods from local artisans and third world recyclables plus some wholefoods. There's the option of sitting outside (a little... More

We stopped at Johnnys Cafe for tea and cake as we had visited several times in the past. The cafe is in a nice position in Hayle and has a quite a unique interior. We were very disappointed to find that the atmosphere had changed and it didn't have the same friendly feel that we had previously noticed. It was... More

Although the food we had was very tasty and quick, we were disappointed by the poor service from the very grumpy woman behind the counter. She was rude when we pointed out she got our order wrong, and couldn't be bothered to explain which options were vegan - just said "well you tell me what you want and I'll tell... More

A couple of years ago my Mum, a very discerning food lover, recommended Johnny's. I admit to having been a little dubious as I'd not considered Hayle to be a culinary destination aside from the ubiquitous Philps pasties! How wrong I was!! We are now regulars!! Johnny's has a lovely ambience, especially if you are lucky enough to snag the... More

This is the 3rd time we have been in the last few weeks as we live close by. The first 2 times the service from the lady (who we think was the owner, blond hair?) was brilliant, extremely helpful and friendly. On my third visit there was a different lady serving and she was very stern, no friendly welcome, no smile.... More
