Excellent food

Really good food, local produce beautifully cooked and presented in a friendly setting. I'm extremely picky about rack of lamb but it simply could not have been better, perfectly cooked and presented beautifully with heritage vegetables and a good dauphinoise. Other guests had scallops, hake and... read more

After 25 miles of hills on our bikes we were tired, hungry & thirsty but were very picky about drink & food. On entering we were warmly welcomed, cider was very refreshing and the food was superb, I'm fussy about steak & this had to be the best medium steak I have tasted, with fruity little tomatoes all on a... Just returned from a weekend stay at the Finneygook Inn, the reason for our visit being close by to friends who were staying in the area to celebrate a 21st birthday. We have never visited this part of Cornwall and found it very picturesque and a real find. The highlight of our trip, which we were not expecting however, was... More

We had a wonderful meal at the Finnygook last night to celebrate our anniversary. The food was beautifully prepared, cooked and presented and the service was fantastic. We couldn't recommend it highly enough, thank you Erika and Neil for a great evening!

I have been using the Finnygook for about three years now and hosted a large family reunion there last September. Great character, good atmosphere and great food (see my earlier review.) I would agree with all that others have posted about the positive changes since it changed hands but one. They price of the roast beef sunday lunch has increase... More

I liked everything about the Finnygook Inn. The staff, the friendliness, the warm welcome, the excellent service, and of course the food and the Cornish beer! There was no dislike.

This was my wife,s mum,s 85th birthday treat. We had a great family meal here at Xmas so decided to return for this special occasion. We sat in the bar where there was a great atmosphere. The food and service was excellent.

We have had the pleasure of dining here three times in the last 10 days and on each occasion the food has been outstanding. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

My partner and I visited this restaurant as we were in the area on business. Our experience was fantastic, and we would return in a second (and almost certainly plan to!) We ordered two mains; the seafood pie and the lamb. Both were exceptional, although I must admit that my partner had major food envy over my lamb! The food... More

Great place, great service and a huge tasty Sunday Lunch. If you like lots of wonderful food and an great location then come here. If you don't have a large appetite, the children's roast will be enough.....we couldn't squeeze in a sweet which was a shame. Next time, eh?
