We sought this pub out having read its listing in The Good Pub Guide 2014 but were sadly very disappointed. After waiting at an unattended bar a dishevelled young man eventually appeared who looked as though he had just got up. We ordered some (expensive) glasses of wine and were informed of the unavailable food choices which effectively ruled out... More

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at Polhawn Fort. It was very close so a great location if you are looking for somewhere to stay to attend a wedding there also. The lady serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful and the breakfats itself were very yummy and generous. Ensuites were lovely and rooms were clean... More

This pub was recommended to us as we were staying just a mile down the road near Crafthole. The atmosphere was great and the locals all very welcoming. Good food albeit the menu is slightly limited if you don't like fish. Dogs also welcome in the bar area.

All the dishes we ordered looked and tasted fresh. The service was prompt and very friendly. We will definitely revisit this pub if we are in the area.

I came for business - preparing accounts and a tax return... - not the most exiting occupation to be doing on a Bank Holiday Monday. But the welcome was so warm and the food so delicious, that it made it a very pleasant day after all. Thank you guys and girls, and more specially the landlady and her companion.

Three of us ate here twice recently and had a good experience. I'd recommend booking to assure a table in the restaurant area as most were full by 7pm on the nights we visited. We had 6 different meals and all were good - 3 specials including hake and a pulled pork burger plus 3 meals of the "normal" menu... More

We came here two days in a row it's so good! Popped in for a drink on Saturday, introduced to fantastic Rattler cider by wonderfully friendly staff and locals, then came back on the Sunday for dinner. We ate a marvelous Sunday roast; second only to a Michelin-starred restaurant we know, which can't be bad can it? The atmosphere is... More

Had a lovely meal at the Finnygook Inn today. The restaurant had a good atmosphere & we enjoyed a generous Sunday roast. The veggies were a bit underdone for my taste & the puds took a while from order to delivery but overall I enjoyed it & would definitely return.

We cannot comment on the food this time as we didn't get that far. We have been visiting the Finnygook for quite a few years but we will not be returning. What started as a simple booking of a table on the telephone ended in us leaving after being subjected to appalling customer service with a 'local woman' joining in... More

The menu is very limited and quality is only 3 star. Staff are quite polite and cheerful but the owner/chef needs to change and extend the menu - very boring.
