Food is very tasty, plentiful and good value for money. Has a large open fire to keep you warm in the colder months. Service was good. Recommended :)

I went here to eat with six friends and the whole experience was just terrible. The waitress was very rude and arrogant, she thought she was funny but she certainly was not. Four of our seven main course went back to the kitchen. Two plates of scampi came back to the table burnt and balck after being sent back as... More

Have been to this pub a few times before but not for a couple of years, my previous visit was when it was run by the people who own Turtley when the food was superb. I have to say its really gone down hill, there were 3 of us & on arrival was told that the fryer had broken so... More

Had a fabulous Saturday night in the Finnygook. Good was superb. Staff were very accommodating and the entertainment by young singer Jim Keir was top class xx

I have lived in South East Cornwall for over 30 years and I do eat out regularly. I have just returned home after enduring the worst dining experience ever. Sunday Lunch - how can you turn something so simple into such a dog's dinner. In fact I apologise to my dog, I would not serve this muck to my lovely... More

Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen, but Saturday night was a bad night.....for our group anyway. The starters looked promising, but the soups were too spicy and much too salty, and the chef agreed with our comments, apologies were forthcoming. In the main courses the steaks were pretty good, once one had been returned to the... More

My mother-in-law said she'd like to take us out for an informal meal as she'd been staying at our house for a few days so we decided to go to Waves in Seaton as we'd only been there for drinks before but had heard good reviews of the food. Well they couldn't take any food orders 'til 20:15 which was... More

We sought this pub out having read its listing in The Good Pub Guide 2014 but were sadly very disappointed. After waiting at an unattended bar a dishevelled young man eventually appeared who looked as though he had just got up. We ordered some (expensive) glasses of wine and were informed of the unavailable food choices which effectively ruled out... More

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at Polhawn Fort. It was very close so a great location if you are looking for somewhere to stay to attend a wedding there also. The lady serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful and the breakfats itself were very yummy and generous. Ensuites were lovely and rooms were clean... More

This pub was recommended to us as we were staying just a mile down the road near Crafthole. The atmosphere was great and the locals all very welcoming. Good food albeit the menu is slightly limited if you don't like fish. Dogs also welcome in the bar area.
