Revisited this year after having had a birthday dinner there four years ago. Found the menu limited and overpriced. The Brunning family who used to run it have left and it is not as it was.

Knowing the Brunning family from South Devon had had some involvement with the Finnygook we were delighted to find it. We visited twice within a few days. The specials on the board were not available as they had ran out of rice, the day before. The bread roll for the burger was very hard. The red wine as delivered was... More

Only in Cornwall would you find the Finnygook Inn! finnygook.co.uk The menu was not huge but I wanted to book in to stay so that I could eat my way through it over a number of days - it was seriously mouth-warteringly tempting. As well as a la carte was an option of a 2 course lunch £10 or 3... More

Pleasantly surprised by the food coming out of the kitchen , looked great and was tasty too !! Wasn't as busy as I would have expected with them serving food like this but non the less thier seabream and duck dishes looked good as well as tasting good , If this is to be the norm then we will be... We dropped in for just a pint and a snack, but could not resist the description of their roast beef sunday roast for the two of us. So when it arrived it was great in quality, taste and variety of accompaniments - what a good choice along with local real ale. My treacle sponge to follow was excellent too, not... More

Being local, this is the place we use to head for when family come to visit. NOT ANYMORE! On being seated we all commented that the tulips in the centre of the table were well past their best....but we were here for the fantastic food and spot on service so didn't give it another thought. There were only 2 other... More

Pleasent enough place, we arrived for a sunday lunch at 13.00 got our drinks and with a menu were shown to great table with far reaching views. We waited 20 minutes to give our order (there was only 1 other couple present) then while waiting the pub gardener started to mow the grass just as the place started to fill... More

Staying local to the Finnygook Inn and having driven past it several times my wife and I thought we would give it a try for an early evening meal and a few drinks. Initial impressions were very good. It definitely looks the part with low bean ceilings, cosy bar a good sized dining room. The real fire in the middle... More

We have not eaten here for a while and it certainly isn't what it used to be; not as busy for a Sunday lunch as we used to remember it. The food (lunch) was pretty reasonable but overall the restaurant is looking 'tired' and a bit grubby in places. The staff aught to sit at a table and pretend to... More

We visited the Finnygook Inn on Easter Sunday and had the most delicious roast dinner. It would seem that all the food was freshly made as opposed to being bought in. Good hunks of meat and great veg that we all enjoyed. Plus the puddings were delish too! There was only one downside... it was really really warm in there... More
