You absolutely must, stay at this hotel, or stay for lunch or dinner - it is truly lovely - I wanted everything, but alas, the meal that i had was more than adequate - all portions are large, so be careful when your greedy eyes see the food and your mouth starts watering - you may not be able to... The local Crayfish and Lobster are lovely here. This part of Cornwall is spoiled for well known chefs, but I must say the riverside is a hidden gem. It is so convenient to the lovely part (Boscastle) that it would be a mistake not to book in.

The choice of eating houses in Boscastle is not that great, appearing to cater mainly for the day tripper. The Riverside, however, is a cut above the rest and is a perfectly acceptable place to eat. The menu is good with a number of daily specials. The quality and quantity of the food is good marred only by variable service... More

We went in a small group to Cornwall and stumbled across this restaurant in Boscastle. Staff were all very friendly and the food was excellent - especially for the good prices. We went back the next night so a win all around.

Had both lunch and dinner there in one day - couldn't ask for more! Lunch was delicious and brilliantly priced!! Dinner was classy, a different atmosphere and even tastier than lunch. This is the best place in Boscastle without doubt! Staff make you feel comfortable and welcome while providing a classy and professional service. Would go again!

Visiting from Australia and looking for a quaint Cornish village to stay in, one can't go past Boscastle and dinner at the Riverside Restaurant capped it off beautifully. Friendly staff from the minute we walked in on a busy Saturday evening (with no reservation) until the minute we walked out. The setting is perfect, located next to the stream which... More

Last night in Cornwall but this was a very average experience unfortunately. Friendly staff, nice location with a running stream at the rear. The starter scallops were excellent. The carrot and coriander soup was fine but nothing very special, could have been a Covent Garden packaged soup - but the lobster/seafood thermidor was very disappointing indeed. Very plain salad and... More

We took our Canadian friends here whilst we were in the area for lunch. They were keen to experience a fresh crab salad so we could not think of a better place. We did not book but a table was available. It was a scorcher of a day and so we chose to sit inside in the cool of the... More

We decided to stop for lunch at The Riverside and sat outside alongside the river in a well shaded area. We had a baby in tow, plenty of room for the buggy although a bit up and down to get through the restaurant to the gardens, but it was worth it as very pretty. We had homemade soups and sandwiches,... More
