This restaurant is situated in a stunning location, central to Boscastle. The staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean tidy and generally well presented. Coffee good. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food at lunch. Appreciating that it is the week before Christmas, end of a long Summer - but that is no excuse. We opted for Cod and Chips... More

Ate here while staying at the hotel and found the food to be quite good. We chose seafood and it was cooked well with nice sauces. A little pricey for what you got and the service was a little slow.

We visited the riverside as a family of 5 with highchair. The service was excellent and the carvery was very tasty. The homemade deserts were lovely- but perhaps the cream, ice cream or custard should be included in the price instead of being extra. Just a suggestion.

We visited The Riverside on a rainy November afternoon in Boscastle, and it was a lovely surprise. We had lunch off the specials menu, vegetable curry and crayfish salad, and both were very good. The curry was hearty and warming and the salad was fresh and colourful. Service was excellent, the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Being on my own I was shown to a table facing a wall which was a little off-putting. Saying that I hadn't booked and the rest of teh restaurant looked very nice. The staff were very efficient and friendly. I had Scallops with bacon to start which were lovely. The steak I had for my main was a little tough... More

After a nice day walking and exploring, we stopped here for lunch. The food was cooked to order and was rather delicious. Portions good and it had the bonus of free wifi! Staff very helpful.

Amazing recovery after the terrible disaster that fell on this small town in 2004. 10 years on and this town is as beautiful as ever. So, cream tea.... With friends so decided to eat here. The Cream Tea was very good with nice warm and soft Scones, with decent Jam and of course Clotted Cream. Nice Earl GreyTea so was... More

Stopped here to get out of the rain and found a nice table overlooking the garden (nice when the sun came out). We ordered cream tea, and it was good, but not delicious. The waiter was not very attentive.

We ate here on our second day during a 1 week break in Boscastle. It was Sunday afternoon and the roast carvery was an obvious and very good choice. The staff however seemed to be struggling to cope with the number of diners and we had long waits between the various stages of our meal. Having experienced food of comparable... More
