simple and tasty

as its name says, its a bhajia place. the bhajia is very fresh and tasty, they make a point of making it fresh, so its always a 8 minute wait whilst it fries, and its worth waiting for, very well spiced potato with a lovely red chutney. bhel is ok, bit too Kenyan for my taste, pani puri was... read more

I have eaten at Maru's for 17 years, but felt compelled to write this review in the hope that it may be seen by management. Given the recent take over it has take gone steeply downhill, the service has become so poor both as a diner at the restaurant and as take away, often having to wait for an hour... More

We live in Leicester so whenever we are in London I to love go here just for the bhajias. On our last visit my eye court the waitress emptying the leftover chutney from what someone had not finished ready to be served to the next customer.I was disgusted with this and I told the waitress I wanted new chutney not leftover... This is a very popular eating place for indians. There is always a cue to get in. The place is small. The staff are new and still getting used to the fast pace of teh restaurant. The 2 experienced staff have left so service tends to be a bit slow. When you get seated you have to try and grab... More

I love their crispy bhajia, the reason I gave such a low rating is because the service was just awful. Even after I mentioned about their attitude on customer service, there was no change , but they treated as even worse after that, I will never step foot in that restaurant again.

So today we thought we'd have a treat and went to Maru's Bhajia House... It was awful! We left stressed, still hungry and in bad moods. Good was not great, service was terrible, people were waiting 45 mins for a cup of tea! The waitress nearly stabbed me in the eye with a knife as she came over, then just... More

Being a Kenyan and having had Kenyan Maru Bhajias, my boyfriend insisted I should try Marus. It was just as good as Kenya....The Bhajias were really crispy and perfect, with the perfect chutney. I had their mango milkshake which was good too. The only reason I havent given the 5/5 review is because the service was a slight let down....but... More

Good resturant , not much choice on the menue. Pure vegitarian resturant . Only BHAJIYA lovers should go. Hot spicy special maru BHAJIYA is the speciality which they brought with them from Kenya. Maru BHAJIYA is served with special fresh chutney made from cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, garlick, ginger and their special spices and to enhance the flavour more you will be given tamarind chutney... The only positive thing i can say is that the bhajia do taste better any place I've been too in london. everything else on the menu is not worth your time or money. Even the bhajias to be honest have become quite pricey for what they actually are. The service is absolutely terribly. Even after booking a table in advance... More
