We received a warm welcome at this very nice reataurant. Their signature negroni cocktail was delicious ! The food was beautifully cooked and served. The sweetbreads were very tasty as was the Vitello Milanese and the wine list was very comprehensive. Altogether a very enjoyable evening.

The cooking isn't complex and it's all the better for not being too ambitious. Perfect home cooked food prepared with care and presented with class and style. Lovely pasta dishes. Interesting and perfectly seasoned. Great for a stylish but relaxing supper. Not that cheap but worth it. But lose the paper table cloths please (it's one of my bugbears -sorry!)

This was a recommendation to one of our friends, so we rocked up early evening on a Friday, reservation having previously been made (apparently advisable to do so) If you are there before 7pm, you get the option of the express menu where for £8.50 (at time of writing) you get a delightful Parmesan and creme fraiche salad and a... Went there for lunch on a recommendation. We were the only diners. The first two wines we asked for were both out of stock. I have never encountered this at a restaurant. The food is smart Italian and we had to trawl the menu hard to find dishes that appealed. The food was well prepared and cooked when it arrived.... More

This is a lovely room, spacious and decorated in dark and cream colours which work well. There are fresh flowers and a genuine welcome. The food is delicious and bountiful ..... Lord only knows how much reviewers who have complained previously about portion size actually expect. We went with old friends who live locally and enjoyed scampi fritti, rocket salad,... More

A cosy looking Italian. Starter of spicy prawns was delicious and generous. The wine recommended by the waiter was nice and good value. Main course of veal and salad was also nice though to my large appetite a little small. Overall very nice and would return

Mains good quite small portions but well prepared and good flavour. Drinks and wine expensive vegetables need as extras so overall quite pricey

As you walk into this cozy, hidden Italian gem you know immediately you've made the right choice! Not only is the lighting perfect (ladies!!) the old black and white photos on the walls tell the history of the restaurant and the family who run it. The food is AMAZING and the portions are extremely generous. The staff are friendly and... More

considering this is an Italian, there was a poor showing of vegetables( a large part of italian life!) The service was incredibly slow (30 mins to take a lunch order and the restaurant wasn't even busy. An even longer wait for the meal. Plus very limited Sunday lunch menu. Very disappointed and so will not be returning.

We regularly go to the butcher in Richmond, and found out that the owner also runs A Cena. The excellent quality we enjoy at the butchers clearly translates to the restaurant. We shared a starter and both had a pasta course. The food was great but unfortunately we were full so unable to try the meat, fish or desserts. Very... More
